No one was screaming about $1.80 gas except in happiness when it happened, about 4 years ago - as that was close to the low point for the past 7 years. Save that single, like three-month dip in prices, it hasn't been below $2 for regular since before 7 years ago, looks like.

Here in the UK we are paying $8.68 per us gallon for fuel.
Last week when we had the threat of a tanker drivers strike fuel was running out and in some cases the prices went up even more.

$3.85 at BJ's the other day, about $3.85 everywhere else around my area.

I get my gas at Costco near my mom's house and it was $3.96 a few days ago. Other stations in the area are in the $4.02-$4.18 range, depending on the proximity to shopping areas. On the highway or around school it's in the $4.12-$4.53 range from the last time I saw it on Sunday.

I really enjoy going home on the weekends, and I need to because of work but it makes it so I have to fill up once a week. Ugh...

Driving from Mass to Michigan over the last couple days, I saw everywhere from $4.10 or so to $3.84 - but much of it over $4.

Haven't been out yet this morning but last evening it was 4.15-4.25 depending on the station.

Thank you, I thought I was losing my mind. I remember panicking about gas approaching $2/gallon a VERY long time ago (almost 10 years?). And I also remember gas approaching, or exceeding $4/gallon just several years ago, during a different presidency. PLEASE, no debate, I'm only using the "P" word as a measurement of time. I just remember the debate at the time being about a different guy-in-charge, and that just serves to remind me that this isn't the first time gas prices crept up to this point. And they also crept back down.

No, you don't hear much about it now. Hmmmm. I wonder why that is?

Plus as mentioned above, people were relieved when it went back down to $1.80 after the $4.00 that it had been.

Well I found out.

Illinois, by state law, has it's own specific blend of gas and there are only two refineries here that produce it. If there is a shortage gas from other refineries cannot be used here.

I heard someone talking about why gas goes up in the summer months. They always point to the fact that it is because people use more and it is a supply/demand thing. But in reality it is because that is the time of year the different standards for gas blends change every year and it costs a bundle to make all the different blends.

Thank you Sierra Club and EPA. In their quest for everything green, the country will go broke.
They keep raising the bar for clean energy, I wonder what their final goal is?

yep...that is why you will see states like CO far lower as they can purchase from our friendly Canadian neighbors at far better prices.

Ah yes, ethanol. Gov subsidized and it lowers gas mileage. Gotta love it.
