lol...yes...it's a flowery smell. You smell it before you even reach the doors. I know some people have scent intolerances and they may not like it. I found it pleasant.

Smile Staying in October!

Hi all,

I will have my first stay at Dolphin for October. Actually, this is my first stay at any Epcot-area resort, so I'm excited! I did it because I'm literally going to be living in Epcot for Food & Wine and D23 events.

My first thought was to book Boardwalk or Yacht/Beach but Dolphin was so much more competitive, I couldn't justify staying at the other 3.

I hope I made a great decision!!

I read the first 7 pages and will try to read up on the rest, so I know what to expect.

Thank you for any advice! I'm in the middle now of signing up for Starwood, since I read it on the first pages.

I have mostly stayed at the Swan, a few times at the Dolphin. Many times I have had Epcot and/or fireworks views. Not sure if they are listed as such, but have seen both many times from my rooms. If you are on the east end, facing the Boardwalk, up high, you will see them

A great question that I wish I would've asked before we went! I (stupidly) filled up the water reservoir as much as I could (since I'm used to using a Keurig that just feeds water from the tank as you make coffee.) I put the cup under and began to brew and it just kept going and going and it overflowed the cup and kept going. Luckily I was standing right there! There's no way to turn it off, so I had to just unplug it and clean up the mess. So embarrassing!

Use the provided cup and only fill it with as much water as you want it to brew (if you want to put cream or sugar in, don't fill it all the way to the top with water.) It's going to brew exactly what you put in each time.

A better deal than AAA but I'm not sure about teachers or nurses. One catch: a deposit of $100 each is required immediately and it's non-refundable. But it was worth it for us - I'm in the Princess Half Marathon that weekend!
I forgot to mention that this includes all of the taxes and resort fees (but not parking)! So, if you add in the ~$14 resort fee and ~12.5% taxes, its a really good deal... and no, I don't work for Costco, but I love to walk their aisles!

Just returned today from 5 nights at the Swan. The White Tea scent used in the Swan's lobby, which I love but was much too strong in the past, was barely noticeable. I loved the new White Tea bathroom products: bar soap, body wash, conditioner, shampoo, and lotion. I wasn't fond of the Bliss products previously used.

Very cool, i know this was a few months ago...but we're going to the Dolphin next Friday Aug 10...when do you check if your room type was upgraded? i reserved a standard last week, and it currentlystill reads limited view. Thanks

Thanks to all who have posted and two questions

So much great information in this thread for a first timer at the Dolphin! I do have two questions.

Do you still just call for room requests or is there a place to do so on-line, spg.com, hotels site, etc.?

How is the moisture issue in the hotel from anyone staying there recently? Some postings and other sites say it is an issue with potentially a moldy smell and damp bedding. I have a 3 year old with bad allergies and, since the windows don't open and a balcony room wasn't in the budget, I'm worried about a little one sneezing and itching during the day because of sleeping in the room at night.

Everything else looks like we will really enjoy our upcoming stay, and thanks again to all of you for the great information!
