I am freaking out! We filed our taxes on January 30 and they aren't accepting ones that have education credits yet! We were banking on having our refund by Feb 21, when our trip has to be paid for. The earliest they said we would get it back is Feb 22. Does Disney ever work with people who cannot pay 45 days ahead? We need like 30 days ahead.

Do you have the dining plan? You could always remove it and/or change your ticket to 1 day passes to lower the amount due, then add them back after you get your refund

Yes, we have the dining plan. Might have to think about your idea. We could not afford to go without our taxes.

My friend did just as TJDisneymama said. She had a package booked, due by 3/4 and because she isn't sure she will get her return in time to pay it off, she switched to a room only and will just buy her tickets at the resort if she had to. But, if she ends up getting the return she will switch back to the package.

That's what I used. . logged on and did our taxes tonight, just to get it over with. Pretty easy! Within a half hour of submitting it, I got confirmation that it had been accepted and I should be receiving payment by 2/25.

I also use turbotax. I filed on 1/14 and my refund hit the bank on 2/1.

There is a grace period. I'm not sure how long it is though.
Be careful switching over to a room-only. It can mess with your discount (if you used one).

Here's an old thread discussing it (I doubt it has changed since then. Disney wants your money): http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2219936

We did our taxes and I am anxiously waiting for it to be in so I can officially book our trip( driving me nuts Bc I need to make adrs!! Lol)
They said it could take up to 21 days but is love to see a date when it should be deposited
Thank you!
You can make ADRs anytime within 180 days with or without a hotel reservation, as long as you have a general idea of when you're going. I made all mine weeks ago, and we just booked our hotel last week. It does sting a bit if you have to cancel, but most of them, at most, only take a credit card guarantee, and all the pre-pay ones are refundable up to 24 hours out. We didn't have any prepay ones this time, but we did for the trip I had planned for January, and had to cancel. The refund was in my bank account within a few days. If you're planning on the dining plan, you'll only be able to get them to indicate that you're paying with credits on pre-paid ones if you've already booked, but we don't use the dining plan.

Usually, they stay at the All-Stars.

This:http://usasf.net.ismmedia.com/ISM2//...eer_Packet.pdf
indicates that they have the option of staying at either Disney's All-Stars resort, or Caribbean Beach Resort for April this year.
It's possible that they could end up overflowing elsewhere, but I think they usually stick to those 4 resorts pretty well.

Thanks!

They're going to be at Epcot the same day we plan to go. Sigh. Hopefully it's not too insane. I didn't deal with teenage girls well when I was one!

Ah, well. We'll roll with it.

For those that won't have your refund by the 45 day mark.... why don't you pay with a credit card and then pay off the credit card within the 30 day grace period before charges accrue?

I always pay with a credit card so that I can get points.

I have no credit cards. Paid them off and cut them up years ago. No Credit cards, no car payments. I just couldn't handle the stress. I did think for a minute about opening a Disney Visa Rewards card just to do that, but I lack the self control to cancel the card after and not turn around and go right back to Disney. Lol

Just wanted to let you all know that I will be away for a few days and won't be able to make any updates to the first post, ADR post, and PreTrip Report post. Hopefully on Saturday I'll be able to get everything caught up.
