Thanks for the heads-up. I looked it up, and it's all good. Surely if you printed off your original confirmation email, they would have to honor that, right?

Yes it can! Which is why I always suggest that you book now and check back later. In fact, I looked at horselover's rate right after she posted it and it was high then.

Horselover, I would call Alamo and find out what's going on.

No, mine was the same as quoted. Even still, I will print out my original reservation confirmation email and bring that with me, just in case .

I'm curious where was your pick up location. Those are my dates too and I haven't found anything remotely close to the price you got, well, the price you were initially quoted for.

So I finally made an initial reservation with Budget. Using the Wendie special on their home page. I have a full size reserved for $221.30 for 12/8 to 12/15 at TPA - all taxes and fees included. I assume it will be $201.30 upon return.

Not excited about using Budget instead of Alamo or National but just can't justify the cost

Just hoping for better rates as we get closer!

Dollar full size $85.68/week

I just booked a full size with Dollar for $85.68/week. I am picking up at the airport Dec. 8 and dropping off at Wyndham Lake Buena Vista Resort (we want to take the DME back to the airport the following morning) Dec. 23. For this 15 day rental, our base rate is $183.65; total with taxes/fees is $276.55.

Wow, $74.88/week!

Just booked Dollar for a lock-low-and-go rate which is compact size or larger for only $74.88 per week. Our reservations is for 8 days (12/1-12/9) and is $140 including taxes/fees. The rate code it put in for the lock low and go special was Rate Code: R4UW8

They also have the full size for less than $10 more but I sort of like the gamble of seeing what we get, lol

$413.54 for my dates!!!! (December 23 - 30)

Makes my $259 (taxes included, via Dollar using the Vacation Outlet discount) look mighty nice in comparison.

I am now at $122.57 including taxes and fees with Advantage from 12/1-12/8. I keep checking every day and it goes down by a few bucks here, a few bucks there. Would be great if it goes down even more but I'm already pretty pleased with $122.
