I just bought the fitbit zip yesterday and love it! It's on sale at Verizon Wireless for $49.99.

I bought it in-store at Verizon Wireless. Maybe it's not on sale on the website or the sale ended yesterday?

It's very accurate. It knows exactly how many times I've been up and down the stairs in my house. It's easy to wear (clip it on your bra!). It sets up and syncs easily with an iPhone (4S or later).

What I'm not crazy about is the food tracker. It's very limited in foods pre-loaded into the database. You can load your own but it's a bit of a pain. I know the data from your device will sync to other apps but some of them appear to charge extra.

I had read that it would mistakenly count steps if you wore it in the car but I found that not to be true. I had to run an errand and it didn't count a single step during the drive. Maybe on a bumpier road.

I like it! DD has worn hers constantly since Christmas and loves it. Worth the $99, I'd say.
I have mine linked to my account at Sparkpeople.com. Their food database is HUGE and you can enter your own foods in for your own use. Just enter the nutrition info on the label.

It has a button to then send your foods over to fitbit.com to keep track of the calories you can eat.

It can. I was browsing through the activities logs when I came across this and thought about this post.

Go to your fitbit.com account. Click on "log activities", then click on "browse," then click on "home activities" in the left box.

In the box on the right, click on
"Moving household items upstairs, carrying boxes or furniture"

You can then log how many hours, minutes and seconds you spent lugging stuff up the stairs to get additional calories burned. Make sure you have gone back to the day it happened.

Some of the ones on Amazon - certain colors - are back ordered as well. Jan 7 is the date I was given for mine.
