New Coffee Maker Pods?
Where can I buy pods for the new coffee makers in the rooms and which ones are good to drink? I like a good strong cup of coffee in the morning (gotta be awake for rope drop, you know).

I've been searching for this information also. I recall that someone said the coffee makers were produced by cuisinart. I am going to look at Bed, Bath, and Beyond today as I haven't found them in my grocer.

Not sure yet where to buy the pods - looking into this too.
I've been reading reviews from individuals that have purchased this machine, and they haven't been very good. Nealy all say the coffee is very weak - I long a strong brew too. Tips I've found to improve the strength say to use really cold water and only use half the amount of water per pod - 4oz. Some say to use 2 pods, but apparently, this creates 'a mess' - haven't found what that means yet. Many say to use bottled water vs. tap - I would think this especially true at WDW.

Which resorts have the new pod coffee makers? We are going to POFQ in December, and DH always brings his own coffee. Will we need to find pods also?
Thanks for your help! |

We were there in Dec. I brought Senseo pods with me and they worked perfectly. I tried the ones supplied--not so great.

I thought the supplied coffee pods were okay, but I'm planning to bring some of my own with me in May. I'm not finding very many "pod" options--lots of k-cups varieties out there.

Some Walmarts still carry the Senseo pods - you could check there.

I haven't used the new coffee makers yet, but I think you just need to make sure that whatever kind of pods you buy, it states that it's a "single-serve pod" (e.g., Senseo).

If you're concerned about the coffee being weak try Senseo Dark Roast and use a little less water.

The best place to get these pods are coffee artisan. They sell gourmet pods in every roast available. They are a little pricey, I think between 8 and 12 bucks a box, but if you order $75 you get free shipping...though I guess if you don't have a pod maker at home you don't need $75 worth of coffee (for a reference point, me and dh drink between 2 to 5 cups a day between the 2 of us and $75 lasts us about 3 months).
I love our pod maker, it's a Bunn. In a pinch we also just rig our own pod. You just cut a regular filter around the sides, press it into a half cup measuring cup and put in about 2 tbs of your own coffee. Then fold over the extra filter and press it firmly with the bottom of a vitamin bottle or cup. You can then put this in the coffee maker and moisten it with a little water to keep it closed and it works pretty good.

1) We stayed at GF two weeks ago and had the new machines.
2) We used the provided Cuisinart pods. . . . wife is a tea drinker and doesn't do coffee . . . strong coffee (to me) distorts the coffee flavor . . . though not a connoisseur, I drink "regular" strength coffee . . . I thought the coffee was good tasting and had several cups during stay . . . it is Cuisinart labeled 100% Arabica beans . . . we asked for more pods from the maid, and received a free handful 3) The coffee maker . . . pod slips into a very thin slide-out holder . . . would not hold other filters or loose coffee . . . it makes only one strength . . . automatically shuts off after a cup is brewed . . . makes two separate cups of different coffee, side-by-side |

POR has the new coffee makers now. I've also had them at WL and Boardwalk.
My DH travels for work and his hotel uses these coffee makers also. I just went on Amazon last week and purchased Melitta Dark Roast coffee pods for him to take. We can't get Senseo in the stores anymore. Amazon also had other brands, including Senseo. The prices were pretty good also.
