The weather was great for running, and the race was very well organized, and we met Joan Benoit Samuelson!

Any guesses as to what a Corral A time would be for the Princess? Last year, 1:04 was B, could 58:40 be A? I'm starting a 10K time improvement program (intervals, tempo runs) and aiming for a 10K at Thanksgiving, so we'll see how much improvement I can make!
I'm not sure what calculations disney uses, but a 58:40 10k using mcmillan puts you at a 2:1047 hm. I believe the cut-off last year was 2:10, so it will be right on the line!

My first few years of running I saw a *ton* of improvement just by running more. I think I saw the biggest jump when I went from 3-4 days week/20ish miles/week to 4-5 days week/25ish miles week. I didn't really to start to stagnate until earlier this year when I was running 5-6 days/week 35-40 miles/week on average. Adding in effort sessions is what finally got me going again.

Of course you shouldn't increase your mileage dramatically AND introduce speedwork at the same time. Either one or the other, but both is risky business. But I think either way, you should see improvement

How is the costume planning going, Princesses????
I found a tutu, that I need to make shorter and I got the tiara, so now I just need some kind of t-shirt... I might buy a white one and write something on it.

If you're thinking of a white tshirt with something on it, you could think about this one. It says "My Glass Slipper" with a running shoe on a pillow. The back has some race/princess analogy stuff. I love mine..super soft performance wear, but I'm likely not wearing it unless it's really cold.

Hey, y'all - if you are cheap like me, you might be interested in this! disneystore.com is having a sale on kid's fleece pullovers - $10 and code FREESHIP ends tonight. I'm buying my kids' "souveniers" ahead of time on sale and then handing them out after I get home. Last year, I found a Vinylmation Mickey hooded sweatshirt for $10 at the Disney Store before our trip. Got it for my preschooler and he spent 2 weeks telling everyone at preschool that Mommy brought it back from DisneyWorld for him! It helps ease the motherguilt AND more money for you at the expo!!!

Hey Princesses!!!! DH and i just got back from the Ten miler. We spent 10 days at wdw and it was glorious! We walked 80% of the race and were just happy to finish. The humidity was insane. I did love the night race aspect. Much less jarring than the 3 am wakeup for the Princess. Well after the ToT we both decided to train for the Princess this year! I did it this past Feb and had the time of my life. We will be staying at POR thurs 2/21-thurs 2/28.

We are thinking of doing Pasta in the Park, it looks pretty cool! I think for $99 each the race retreat is just too much money on top of $155 each to race. Last year it took me much longer to finish than anticipated, and we headed back to the room to shower right away. Any thoughts on Pasta in the Park? I'm so excited to be a part of this AMAZING event again!!!!

I'm actually ready to go with everything

Cinderella Blue tutu, running skirt to go under tutu, blue running top both long and short sleeve (who knows about the weather) and visor that I attach the tiara onto. Oh....even my running socks have a blue trim.

It will be race time before you know it. I think with the holidays time is going to fly by.

So, I'm very much not a tutu or costume type of girl. However, I was at the expo for the Hartford Marathon today and saw a booth with little skirts that are kinda calling my name: www.atticaathletic.com Very comfy feeling light meshy skirt fabric and a comfy waistband with a gel pocket. Very nice sisters who own the company (I love buying from small businesses), and they said they're thinking about doing the Princess expo, and if they do they'll do some Disney Princess color combos.

The expo is going on again tomorrow, so I guess I'll sleep on it and think since there is an expo price of I think $42. Still steep, but cheaper than online.

Today was a sad day. I got new shoes. I am sure in time I will come to love them but right now I feel spiteful and resentment toward them. The guy who did my evaluation is a self-admitted anti-minimalist (and I am a Vibram 5Finger girl). He saif if I want to keep my Vibrams for short runs and trail running, I can, but to wear something with more support on the streets/paths. So I have Asics Gel Cumulus (with custom inserts). I put 3.1 on them today and it wasn't pretty but the IT pain was significantly less than it has been. But I am heartbroken over my beloved Vibrams.

Also got a pink foam roller and some compression leggings (pink, of course!) hile I was there.

Asics Cumulus lover here! (well, maybe former-lover) I've gone through 5 or 6 pair of them and have never found anything more comfortable. Sadly, with the recent release of the 14's series they made some fairly significant (to me)changes and I'm not so happy with them. I've still got alot of life left in one of my 13's, but I'm one that normally has at least 2 pair of shoes for training...one for short runs and another for long runs...so I either need to stock up on as many 13's as I can still find in my size or start searching for another pair that I like. Thought I had found a match in the Brooks Pure Cadence...but the longer the run, the more they didn't agree with my feet...the ToT 10-miler was the last straw in those unfortunately. I hope they end up working out for you!

I wanted to try the Pure Cadence but the guy at Road Runner wasn't having it...

SUCH cute skirts!!!! love them! They look super soft and comfy, I always wear compression run crops under my tutus or skirts. I can't seem to be comfy running in bare legs.
