If there is anything "fair" in the world of RunDisney, then yep. I'd agree with you.

Proof + Experience should mean a bump in corrals if there is a conflict. If there's only 200 princesses putting in 3:30 finish, then you would just end up in the end corral. But based on past experience, there are a TON of walkers, first timers, run/walkers who are slower... so I would think that much of the last 2 corrals are likely to be 3:30 finishers.

Again... I'm just guessing and making stuff up. I know nothing official.

Oh, no - Julie and I took a gazillion pictures last year and finished in 3:24 without seeing a single sweeper. We started in Corral C, so we had a little bit of a cushion. For those who are new to this thread and worried about sweepers, know that the sweepers do not start until the LAST person in the LAST corral crosses the starting line. If you are in one of the earlier corrals, that gives you even more time as a buffer between you and the sweepers.

However, for christinascreative, I would say anything in the 13 min. range would keep you all good. Also, I *heard* that once you hit mile 11 or so, they pretty much leave you alone.

If you have a time I would submit it for just this reason. I think it says if you don't give any time you will be in the back of the pack. You only have to submit an official time if you think you will finish faster than 2:45. But if you put something you will be less likely to be in the last corral.

You can submit by e-mail up to Dec 1. But if you have a race after that you can still use it. Bring a print out of your time to the runner's relation booth (I think that's what its called) and they can adjust what corral you are in.

Thanks so much for sharing this. I have some pictures from a race I did in June that I want to get. $25 for a download of a picture just seemed a little steep.

Commemorative pins

Does anyone know if the commemorative pins are available at the Expo? I saw that they can be ordered through the active.com website but I would rather see what the pin looks like first and I don't want to pay their service fee either.

There were pins available at the Expo this year, and we were pleased because we could not order them in advance ( signed up for the race too late). I preorder whenever I can and have not been disappointed yet. The pins look great on the medal ribbons.

Plenty of pins at the expo. They also had one that was a mini version of the medal.

So, if the aesthetics of that bother you, find a race before December 1!!
Thank you for the help! I will have to have them switch it at packet pickup, there is just not any other 10k around here that I can find prior to December 15.

Do you have a pic of the pins. I have put an order in for one for my collection, but have no idea what to expect.

I didn't put in a proof of time when I registered. I realize I have to finish at least a 10K or higher in order to place into a better corral prior to Dec.1st if I don't want to alter my bib's appearance at the Expo.

My question is I've noticed there are about three or so races in my area that are 10K's prior to Dec.1st. Does Disney approve any race that amounts to that length of distance or do they have to be certified? The reason I ask is because I've noticed when comparing the races in my area one had "course is USATF certified. Chip start timing provided by Accuchip Timing." While others didn't go into specifics. Is there a difference? Are they all the same?

Once I finish the course how would I go about getting my proof of time? Is there some type of certificate or paper of my time? Do I have to scan it to Disney's run email?

I don't know about the "USATF certified" part, but I would think that anything with "official" timing would be acceptable - as in, there is someone actually keeping track of runner's times and recording them. I have run several races where you have to remember your time as you cross the finish (there's a big clock posted), fill out a slip of paper with your info and turn it in after finishing. As long as someone is recording those, it still counts.

As far as getting Disney proof, if you do it before Dec.1, you can just email RunDisney with the name of the race, the date and the city in which it was held and, of course, your time. That's it - they supposedly verify from there. Most races post race times on their websites or Active.com. If you are doing it after Dec. 1, you need to pull up the race website, find your name & time and print a screen shot of it to bring with you to the expo.

A word about timing - some races do as I said above with the runners turning in their own times. "Chip timing" means there is something that is either imbedded in your racing bib or something you put on your shoe and you are automatically recorded as you cross the finish line.

With everyone talking about their first races, I thought I would post about some basic "race etiquette" that newer runners might not know.

All of this is good to hear - thanks guys! So far, I see no 10Ks coming up near me that I can do between post-TOT recovery and the Princess, so it's likely that my TOT time will serve as proof for the Princess... and I'm running the TOT with a major case of IT Band syndrome; my pace will be much slower than what was my norm, pre-ITBS. I'll be happy to end up near a 13:30-14:00/mile average at this point, but I hope to be back to between 11:00-12:00 by the Princess. It sounds like it's worth submitting my TOT time, even if it's not stellar, right?

This pertains to the Princess 5K, not teh half, but pleeeeeeeaaaaaase, when running with a stroller, do not dodge and weave your way through the pack and NO off-roading! The stroller crimes I witnessed during the Tangled 5K this year were nothing less than epic.
