Disney World First Timer! Hints and Tips please

I'll be going to Walt Disney World for the first time this summer and i'm incredibly excited! :D

I was just wondering if anyone has any suggestions for things I could do at Disney that perhaps would not be noticeable to a first timer? Hidden gems i suppose you could call them?

I've already heard about the 'pick a pearl' you can do at Epcot which I am really looking forward to!

Any other suggestions?

TIA!

My most important piece of advice is RideMax. This software costs only $16 for a 90-Day Subscription and works magic. It takes a bit of fiddling with to get the perfect plan, but once you do, you will have a blast.

Also, because August can be quite hot, head to one of the water parks or the resort's pool.

Take your time to poke around Main Street in The Magic Kingdom. We kinda blew through it last time and I regret doing so after reading all the different things you can do there.

We have been to WDW in July and August. It can get hot and crowded. We hit the parks at opening and take a break and do slower things in the afternoon when it is very hot and crowded. Then we do something at night (now a nice dinner and maybe a park). The early morning break in the afternoon is a must for me to avoid heats and crowds.

We love to trade pins during the afternoon and take things slower. Hit the pool in the afternoon, visit a resort, take a nap, do some lesser attractions.

I'll be 22 by the time we go in August and i'm going with my boyfriend and his family, he has 2 younger brothers, the youngest being 10. So activities for all ages would be the most helpful. We're staying in a villa in kissimmee.

We're there for two weeks so should have a decent amount of time to explore
