I remember the name and that's about it! I also remember my mom mentioning it. I do suppose the hormones are a big tribute to my emotional reaction to the article! LOL It was really cool to learn about how Walt designed it himself and I AM truly sad to know that it was the SEQUEL to CoP and I'll never get to experience it as an adult

I love the Carousel of Progress, now we have this funky thing called Innoventions. I don't like it at all.

ummm...are you saying that Innoventions REPLACED CoP over there? We have Innoventions West & Innoventions East but they are both in Epcot and have been there for as long as I can remember. I do enjoy going in there.

Do y'all have Sum of All Thrills? (That's a roller coaster simulator located at WDW Innoventions)

It was originally replaced by America Sings which was a really cute little musical show. Then they took the animals from that and put them in Splash Mountain. Then they put in Innoventions which just has products from "the future". It is really awful. Although I will admit one or two things from the house of the future inside there are really cool. The closest thing they have to a roller coaster simulator is the xbox 360s that Loren and Vincent played with all day in 2010.

For those who may have missed this:

... from Cheri Palmisano: I've never mourned an attraction more than I do now after reading Mike Scopa's beautiful tribute to Horizons. The saddest part is that I can barely remember this lengendary attraction (being 29 years of age)! But Carousel of Progress is a must-see for my husband and me, and I am saddened that its sequel was removed -- especially learning that Walt designed it himself! Thank you for such a wonderful article, even if it brought a few tears!
***********************

Yay!! I remember horizons. As a kid I loved riding that.

aww, thanks for sharing.

while we are on the subject, what other attractions do y'all mourn? I miss Mr Toad's Wild Ride! (which means I really need to get over to DLR soon! before they end up taking it out over there too)
