Walt Disney Studios Summer internship - The DIS Discussion Forums

So I applied back in November for the Undergraduate Walt Disney Studios Summer 2012 internship and I have been checking the dashboard every week now on the Disney Careers website, but it only says "submission".

I was wondering if anyone is having that problem? Or has anyone gotten to the interview stage?

I am worried that my application won't even move to the "in progress" stage.

Same kind of thing for me with ABC internship, but I've only been waiting a month. Patience- not my strongest suit.

I also applied to an internship with the Disney Archive, but it doesn't say anything on the dashboard, which is stressful.

Back when I applied back in 2007, I submitted my application in December and didn't hear anything until the end of February. Then it took most of March for the interviews to be scheduled, and I was offered my internship at the end of March to start at the end of May.

Ok thanks for the information! My application actually recently changed to "in progress" so I am hoping to have an interview in the near future!

I applied to a few undergraduate internships and started in December. A few kept showing "in progress" until I received an email this week to schedule an interview (my interview is Monday @ 3:15 p.m.). It does seem that it takes a long process (longer than the CP) but I think they are now starting to schedule interviews. I read somewhere that it may take until the first week in May before you may hear from them.

I am hoping that I pass this first initial interview on Monday and then hear back right away as far as their decision. I am so excited to be given this opportunity especially in this stage of my life - I returned to college in my mid 50's and am now pursuing my Bachelor's degree and plan to even pursue my Master's degree after graduation. I will never give up on trying to work for Disney!!

When you found out you got an interview, did you get an email notifying you or was it just on the dashboard on Disney Careers website?

They definitely will take much longer to process than the regular CP. They are much more competitive, so the recruiters take a much more thorough and extensive look at all the candidates. Patience is key.

Yes I definitely learned to be patient on waiting to see if I got accepted into the WDW CP program a couple years ago haha.

I applied as well! Mine says in progress now..I guess I just need to be patient. It's so hard to be patient because I'm excited and half nervous. Cross our fingers for all of us that we hear back now that it's the first week of march..DIS boards is the only place where I've seen people say their progress.. I'm just worried because on the Summer Associate Thread, two people have already had 3 interviews for the Studio internship. Any thoughts?

I actually found out during my interview that it was only for the Professional Internships I applied for. My interviewer didn't have any information she could share regarding the undergraduate internships or when or if I would be contacted for an interview. I'm in "interview stage" for two of the PI's (Adventures by Disney and WDPRO Finance Intern) and I have several "in progress" still. I'm hoping something changes this week and get an invite for an interview. Waiting is the hardest, right?!!

Hmm I am wondering if it's maybe because of the departments that people chose on their application went a head and started doing interviews? Or also it may be how many people check off certain roles in which some roles may have more checks than others, so those departments went ahead and started interviews? I mean I am just guessing...I could be totally wrong lol.

Oh ok! Well I hope that interview went well then! You would think that since it is March that something may change soon with our "in progress" applications

I only know a of couple people who actually got to the interview stage so far. It looks like a lot of us are in the submission and in progress stage still.

I also applied for the Production & Music departments!
