Credit Card on shipboard account

Hello all. I have a sort of weird question that I hoping someone here on the boards has some experience with. My husband and I are just recently married and we are going on a cruise in a week. The credit card that I am planning to use for our onboard account has my maiden name still on it not my married name....Will this be an issue? TIA!

It shouldn't. No experience with DCL specifically, but I kept a card with my maiden name for like 8 years into our marriage! Lol long story but every time I showed my ID with my married name, the few retailers that DID ask were satisfied with the answer I gave them, which was that it was my maiden name..

You should be fine.

personally, i would think they are more interested in if the name on your photo ID matches the name on the reservation. (ie. name on photo is maiden, reservation is married = no go). but on the safe side you could always bring the paperwork for your legal name change. it should show your maiden name and your married name which would solve that problem.

We cruised about a week after getting married. The only thing that they cared about was that the names on your passports match the names on the reservation.

I have the same thing with my credit card.

I've trying to figure out how to prepay the tips? I went to my reservation and can't figure it out. Should I call? Because I have MY ATM card I'm using onboard, but would love to prepay with my DH's

I tried searching, but, I leave on Sunday and I'm in a 'frozen' mode....never prepaid before.

Dang, is DCL office open on Saturdays? Any advice? Thank you so much in advance.

I prepaid gratuities yesterday - just called my travel agent and she added it on to the credit card we paid with. I'm thinking she just called DCL to make arrangements. We are still a week out from sailing.

When you mentioned ATM card, I was thinking - I added a credit card to my online resevation but I'd rather pay with my US debit card - I wonder if it is possible to change it before we disembark. Kind of like when you give a hotel a credit card but pay with another form. I don't plan on going over $500 on our shipboard account, which is when I understand the credit cards get charged.
