I hope they aren't there at the midnight chocoholics buffet

It's great to hear that there are so many her age on the boat! I was a little nervous that there wouldn't be!
Our daughter is pretty outgoing, so she doensn't have a problem meeting people, especially kids.

We were on the Fantasy in September, and she loved their club. I felt bad a couple of times when I needed to go get her and get her put to bed around 10PM - she didn't want to leave!!

Wait a sec, there's a 5-10 y.o. sleepover in the Lab??? The boys have only slept at their grandparents' house so far. I wonder if they'd go for it? My guess is not, but you never know.

Just so you don't feel too bad about the weather, it's pouring rain here. Like sheets of rain. We always tell visitors that we need it to keep everything beautiful and green here. Sucks when you are on vacation, though. But it's still 73.

My tip as an experienced traveler and traveling constantly with a minimum of 6 hour time difference, i would recommend this:
** Try to go to bed around the same time every night and try to wake up every day around the same time (for example bed 11pm and wake up 7 am) that way you keep a routine.
** Eat normal food every day as you do at home, do eat breakfast, linch, dinner as you would do at home and een when you're not hungry still eat.
** in my opinion this is the most important one:
Don't think all the time ohw now it is this and this time at home.... You're not at home you are on the ship amd there it is this time.
Stop calculating the time and try not to think about time changes. The longer you keep on thinking about it the more jetlagged you get.

I haven't had a jetlag once also bot on the EBtA in 2010...
I so second these recommendations. Change all your time-keeping devices. You have to convince your body and your mind of what time it is. Giving it conflicting information doesn't help. I used to keep a device or two on home-time but with all the travelling I've been doing, it's gotten so much easier jetlag-wise by changing them all. Getting out in the sun as soon as possible also helps set the body-clock I find.

I'm thankful I'm in the middle of all these time-zones. 2.5hrs to Texas, 4.5hrs to Barcelona. That should help some. My wife isn't so much of a traveller and needs her sleep - don't tell her I said that.

I've heard that there's no guarantee, but that on these longer cruises with fewer kids it's often offered! My girls (we also have twins) are almost nine and have never been on a sleepover. We figure this is a perfect way to get them used to it. Plus, if one of them gets unhappy, we are right there! Win-win.

So far only one of my two has shown an interest. I'm hopeful that she'll convince her sister.

Good point! (We will be right there.) Are your girls pretty alike? The boys are fraternal (and hugely different in size -- like 20 lbs. different!), but they pretty much like the same things. And one will only do something if the other does it, too. Apparently, they still think they share the same womb.

At least they did it on the WBTA 2011 we were on, called the Character Campout. Not sure if an "all the time" thing for the longer cruises. We had to sign up, free, and our 5 year old had never ever spent the night away from us. Not even at the grandparents. She loved it!

Someone in this thread makes a mention of it too - I didn't realize they had a "campfire"...

That's a huge weight difference! My girls always weigh the same amount, but one of them is about an inch taller than the other. Technically they are identical twins (I mean that they have the same DNA and are MZ), but I hate that term as they have quite a few differences. They are very similar but quite distinct as well. Sometimes I'm surprised when folks even notcie that they are twins!

Yep, I spent the rest of the day in the house, doing housework, trip planning and way too much time on the internet.
