My DD ( 19 at time of crusie ) and I (Julie) are booked for this cruise. She is starting her first year of college so in the off chance that she wants to stay on campus for summer school, then we might change our plans. I'm also unfortunately, not at all happy with DCL right now and am awaiting reply from them. This will be our 6th cruise so we were able to call in our the early day (as I'm sure you did probably by your history scroll ). Did you get in on the pricing error on this?

We booked on the 6th-- our third DCL cruise

I don't know if we'll stay if there are some intriguing news for the wonder/magic but if things stay the same we'll be thrilled to be back on the fantasy.

We are me, Dh, and DDs (12/10 at the time of sailing)

We have two other families so far that are looking to join us too!

BTW, since this is the first of the seasons calls at Jamaica I was going to call the meet thread ;

Hey chinarider - sorry you are not happy with DCL - hope things work out. I don't know what I will do when my daughter is old enough to decide to stay at school!

Yes I booked this first thing and got a great rate. I really wanted the 6/7 cruise , but I could not turn down this rate.

....we got the glitch deal on this cruise (only realised this today!) so looks like we may well be keeping it, even though we normally cruise & do Florida in February !
The other factor is we think we mght like to surprise the kids with a mini trip to New York during our vacation ...and I don't think February would be the ideal time to do that !

After lengthy phone calls with DCL, I wrote and email and got a response within a day or two. Still not pleased with the disservice, misinformation etc however, was able to win the battle of the BS and got them to transfer the discount and on board credit (from my dummy res to this one). I was being told that they couldnt do it because once they found the error on rates, any modifications etc would be at the current rack rate. The guy that I spoke with initially was extremely rude as well. I fought for what was right and what I was entitled to so, now it makes this rate even that much more attractive. Not overwhelmed about the ports ( since we've been to them 3 and 4 times ) except for the Jamaica stop. Maybe since we've been to the others, it will mean less money spent on excursions. If my daughter wants to stay at school, I can always have my sister come or something ( heck maybe there will even be a man in my life by then). Seems so far away at this point but, the time will creep up on us real quick.. Do we get to share the deals that we got??? I'm just curious. I know when I was first quoted a cat 9 was priced out for 2 adults at $1600- We upgraded at the port this past summer so, I was afraid to go for the smaller room again. Went with a 4D-

This was initially our 'wild card' cruise, as there were no other February cruises we could put our 4 place holder bookings on.

Initially offered an inside 10A (1A/1C) on deck 9 for $1522 and a far aft, balcony cabin deck 9 5E (1A/1C) for $1850. Both include our 10% rebooking discount.
.....but given the price of the 5E, I then asked to book both of the cabin as side by side 5E on the aft of deck 9.

Probably because it was in $s, not my native £s, I never realised it was such a steal....... though I did remark to my DH how I wondered why it was so much cheaper to cruise in May, than Feb ?... and why I'd never realised this before !?

It was only a few days later, when trying to find out if there was already a cruise meet thread, that I stumbled on another thread discussing that there had been some glitches on some May 2014, for the first few hours of Gold/ Plat. bookings.

I do think it is a little odd however, that our T/A has never made mention of the fact these were exceptionally good prices ?

BTW I feel your pain over DCL - we too have felt the Disney 'in'difference to some complaints on our last cruise ...its certainly led me to think their customer service is over hyped, and under delivers, these days.

We didn't get in on the good rate although I'd called right when the Gold/Platinum phone lines opened. 90+ minutes of hold time later, I was told May dates were currently unavailable. So disappointing when I discovered the great deal we'd missed out in, but I'm still very happy to plan this cruise. DH and I are bringing our 14-year-old DD and 11-year-old DS. It's hard to imagine that we won't have a child in the Club/Lab on our next cruise!

The only thing that will throw a wrench into this will be if Disney adds a Hawaii cruise. But until then, this is the one
