We leave for our first ever Poly stay on Saturday!! Per DD, here our arrival steps:
1. Check-in.
2. Get to room and jump on the bed!
3. Get her hair wrapped.
4. Swim at the pool until our dinner ressie at 1900 Park Fare.

We NEVER deviate from these steps on every single trip!!!

Sea Raycers at the poly

My DW and I will be at the Poly for the first time on Sept 16 for a week. I want to rent a sea Raycer while I am there. My question is are they enjoyable enough to rent for 2 hours or is 1 hour long enough?

We played for 1 hour & it seemed to FLY by, but maybe that was just us! It was a lot of fun.

Question Poly Experts...

We will have our 1st Poly stay in April (CL)!

I was wondering about the GV room views in Hawaii...it looks like they face back towards GCH??? Is that correct? I just want to make sure there is no way that our view will be of GF construction, but that looks impossible, right?

TIA.

They are definitely a ton of fun, we've always rented for an hour, and usually by the end of the hour I'm ready to go back. I personally can't see doing 2 hours. One hour is plenty for me to do a good bit of exploration and have a bunch of fun, and then move on. It does seem to fly by though.

GV rooms face the East (Quiet) Pool area and your view will be of the landscaping on that side of the building. The GF construction will be nowhere in your line of sight from your GV room.

For us 1 hour was more then enough time. We loved it but 1 hour was plenty for us.

Excellent! Sounds perfect. Thank you!

I forgot to mention, when we were getting ready to check out on Friday they came into our room to measure the windows for new drapes. I also had a chat with a few other CMs in the Hawaii building who aren't fond of the new modern theme they are bringing to the Poly. I told them there are a lot of Poly lovers who are just as bummed as they are!

Any ideas as to when they will start on the Hawaii building?

They are supposed to be doing it in January and February...that is why you can't book Poly CL during those months.

Aloha all!

I just packed what I could and will finish up tomorrow. We have a late flight so we are not getting picked up by ME until almost 5pm. We plan to hit the MK at rope drop and then I will come back and check our bags then meet DH and DD back at the MK. We have a 2:30 ADR at Kona and then we will chill until it is time to go.

Initially I thought 4 nights would be too short and I would feel like we would not have enough time but we had a nice amount or fun and relaxation which is what we needed.

I plan on doing a full TR upon return. While the majority of our time was positive and the service great we did have a few minor issues. Nothing that would make me not want to come back to WDW or the Poly.

August was new for us and I have to admit by today the heat, humidity, rain and my tween daughter started to wear on me. I think by today DH finally realizes the importance of getting up and out early. It was three days too late though we are booking a bounce back. It stinks...it is free dining from 8/18 to 9/28/13. It is insurance as far as I am concerned! I am hoping a better discount comes around.

I will post a few more Poly pics tomorrow on the Facebook page but for sure on Wednesday I will give a full review and start to upload my pics and share.

Happy Monday all! Time to go watch Wishes for the last time sans any cameras. We are just going to watch and enjoy

Coffee

Hey all. My first Poly stay is this December and I was wondering what kind of coffee the Kona Island or Capt. Cooks has for breakfast.

I also reade that GF is getting Keurigs in the rooms. Does the Poly have them now or will they by December?

Thanks

We rented them for an hour and like the others, that was plenty of time for us. We had a blast and can't wait to rent them again on our next Poly stay in July 2013 .

We also love the Poly just the way it is. I hope the new theme isn't too drastic of a change where it changes the resort all together .

Kona Island has Kona Blend Coffee and I think it taste pretty good. Capt. Cooks is just the plain old coffee sold at other QS locations, I would not recommend this coffee! Now, if you want some great coffee, eat breakfast at Kona Cafe and get the 100% Kona Coffee in the coffee press. That is absolutely the smoothest tasting coffee ever!

I'm not sure about the Keurig coffee makers in the rooms. They didn't have it last Sept when we were there but I have also heard they have since been added.
