That's what I was thinking when I requested it, that it would be nice just to walk to TTC, esp since we have 3 MK days and 2 EP days plannned. Also, I heard that Tahiti has the best standard rooms with TPV on the property.

I'm glad you loved it!!

Thanks for the great pics!

Finally a decent coffee mug! I may have to get a few of those.

I love my big cup of coffee in the morning but the old version was more like a shot of coffee Not to mention we stopped using it because the lettering was starting to come off even with hand washing.

I just did on line check in It was fairly basic. They already had my credit card entered and I did not make any requests because I made them with the IPO so I guess now I just have to get my house in order and next week we will start to pack.

Glad you enjoyed Tahiti. We have requested for Tahiti too for our year end trip. How did you find the walk to the Grand Ceremonial House? We have free dining and that comes with the refillable mugs. We're wondering if it'll be inconvenient to use them in the morning since Tahiti is furthest from the GCH. Probably need to send a kid running back to put them back in the rooms.

The new design is so much brighter and inviting. True, you miss the little extra Polynesian themed decor but the rooms really are great!

While we love the MK I think Epcot is truly our favorite park. I can spend an entire day and night just walking around the countries!

How is your trip planning going? I'm so excited you get to go this year!
This is why we can't pull ourselves away from staying at the Poly. It feels like you are right in the heart of Disney and in the middle of all of the action.

Loving this thread! We're due to arrive at Poly on August 19th - our first time in Disney with the kids!! DH was 16 the last time he was there, and I was 6 (and Disney had only been open a few years back then) - so it will be like our first time too.

Can anybody tell me - the info on this thread is fantastic - but I know I followed a link from the DIS to another website that was all things Poly. Fantastic descriptions of each longhouse and his ratings...but I can't find it anywhere - can somebody link me?

Does anyone have any recent pics of the rooms in the Hawaii bldg? I'd love to see them. Thanks!

They look exactly the same as the rooms on page 1 of this thread. Speculation is that they will undergo refurb in Jan/Feb 2013.

I was poking around on the "magic" website and saw a rumor thread about the GF courtyard pool refurb possibly including a sandy bottom. Steve interjected in the thread with a teaser that Poly may be getting a pool design in the future that would resemble the current aquatic area at Aulani. HHhhhmmmmm.....the plot thickens......
