Hey everyone! It's almost time for me to start putting a new thread together. So, as before, if there is any information that you feel the first page still needs, please PM me to let me know.

If anyone would like to review (or has already reviewed) their most recent stay at the Polynesian, that would be great as well. Pics of room views and room numbers would be awesome. If you have, please point me in that direction with a link or a thread and post number. The reviews section on the first page is getting a little long in the tooth and showing it's age.

Finally, as far as actual F.A.Q.'s go. What do you feel are the most frequently asked questions on the thread? I'll compile these and add them to the (very short) F.A.Q. section on the first page.

Please PM me with this information so that I make sure not to miss it.

Mahalo!

Check out Tikiman's site. On each longhouse's page he an image of the floor plan. I'd throw you a link, but I'm not sure what the deal with that is. It used to be a big no no around here. Search Google for "Tikiman Polynesian"

Unhappy Not so magical

After a year of planning and being SO excited for our first ever stay at the poly, after 1200 miles of driving, we checked in today and the day has been awful. Torrential rains ALL DAY. We are pretty flexible people and no matter how hard we tried to tough it our with our four children after about four hours at magic kingdom we just couldn't do it anymore. The storm isn't moving and it is just sitting over central florida dumping massive amounts of rain. We are looking at another three or four days of this. I am going to cry. I wanted this to magical for the kids and so far... not so much. :-(

I am so sorry about the weather. The one thing that noone can truly prepare for. Sounds like you were troopers going through the storm at MK for 4 hours. I'll wish some good weather for you and get that storm moving

Sorry Tropical Storm Debby is causing y'all problems. Hopefully, she will move out tomorrow.

things will get better

add my so sorry to all the rest of ur dis friends. We were there at the poly last month while beryl hovered over fla. For days. First time I ever splurged on umbrellas . Hang in. Enjoy the time with family and maybe even see if you can use the neverland club for a few hours for the kiddies. Well worth the money. Try to tough it out in the parks and take advantage of the fewer crowds when possible. Again we understand feelings. Wishing you sunshine and pixie dust

We currently have a trip planned for 3/1-3/8. I realized the rates are already at peak rates so was thinking of moving the trip up to 2/1-2/8 to save quite a bit of money. However, the uncertainty of weather has me worried. We REALLY want to get some pool time. I know it is unpredictable but who all has used the pool first week of Feb?

Also, what are the chances the new hot tub (not sure if just rumor) would be done?

Resorts haven't been accepting room request faxes for some time now, it wouldn't surprise me if they've disconnected the fax lines.

To make a request, all you need to do is call 407-WDISNEY and ask them to add the request to your reservation. That's the one and only way to be sure that someone at the resort will see your requests.

We went this past Feb. (albeit to CSR and not the Poly) and on our arrival day, it only got into the high 50s. However, it was actually fairly comfortable in the pool (which, by the way, was deserted) since they heat the water to like 78 degrees. Getting OUT of the pool was the issue.

This is where a hot tub is nice because, upon exiting the pool, you can immediately jump in and warm up. And, when getting out of a hot tub, you don't immediately feel uncomfortable in sub-70 degree temperatures (unless it's really cold and/or windy).

As far as the Poly hot tub, I believe that's simply a rumor Tikiman started in late April. I haven't seen anything about it since on his web site (and have heard nothing elsewhere that didn't ultimately refer back to his web site, including anything from any official Disney source - in that regard, does anyone know how far in advance Disney typically announces resort construction?)

Oh... ok? That's new. Well I have done both. I have faxed in and I already made the request when I booked it. So here's hoping!

So this is kind of a Dining/Transportation/Polynesian question. I debated about where to post it & decided this group seemed like they'd give the most knowledgable answer... I'm planning my family's 1st trip to Disney in October. I thought I had all my ADRs planned & then I started reading about WCC & decided my 6 year old boys would enjoy it. All my other ADRs are in a park or at the Poly. How difficult is it to wrangle a group to/from the Poly/WL for a dinner reservation at WCC?
