I wonder has anyone any experience with this??? If not, I was thinking of just stopping in earlier on the morining around 9:30 and hoping for the best
I think that would help you because if you put down that you have a request for a certain cabana and the other party doesn't care which cabana they have and leaves it in the hands of the Poly people to assign a cabana, then you would probably get what you requested. I think it you do that and show up at the Marina a bit early to "claim" the 1st spot for check in, you'll be golden.

I've searched a bit and have been unable to find out the cost of the cabanas. Can someone fill me in?

You can't request cabanas ahead of time?

I talked to the IPO and was told it was no problem and even have it on my reservations with all of my dining....

Could it be because we chose the Premium Cabana?

(BTW....$350 from 10-5 or 7-midnight, not sure about the other cabanas)

There's only one premium cabana.

Yes that's because you chose the premium cabana and there is only one. I mentioned a few posts back that if you reserved the premium cabana, you needn't worry about requesting any views better than the other because there is only one. I apologize if you missed it

The prices are:

For the regular cabanas:
$100 for a half day (10:00 AM - 2:00 PM, or 3:00 PM - 7:00 PM)
$185 for a full day (10:00 AM - 7:00 PM)

For the premium cabana:
$350 for 10-5 or 7-12 Midnight.

And are, as always, subject to change w/o notice

Talking

This is my 1st post, our 1st trip to Disney World, our 1st stay at the Poly, and it will be a total surprise for the kids! I am so happy to find this great thread about the Poly. I think I am as excited about the resort as I am the parks! I was wondering how I was ever going to make it through the next LoNg 4 months. These boards should help. I am afraid I am wishing away my summer. I am sure I will have questions y'all soon.

That's a lot of firsts! You have chosen well in picking the Poly, but prepare to become an addict! One of the best things about the Poly for me is the feeling that you are right in the middle of all the WDW action ... the monorail pulls right up to the resort, you can hear the train whistle from the MK, you can see the fireworks at night and best of all, the castle is wistfully off in the distance as you look out over the lagoon.

It looks like we will be overlapping by a day or two with our trips. The end of October is a beautiful time of year to go. The weather is great and the MK is all decked out for Halloween! Happy planning!

I'm pretty sure all of the buildings have adjoining rooms - Tuvalu & Hawaii both do.

Remember the planning and anticipation are part of the fun I am always as excited about staying at the Polynesian as I am about the parks!! You've made a great choice for your first trip. Be careful though, the Poly can be addictive.

9 Days until I return to the Poly! I am SO excited! I am surprising my friend! We were supposed to stay at AoA but he has always dreamed of staying here so I changed it! Sssshhhhh!!! Not to mention I did it because Poly is home! These days can't move fast enough!
