I'm so excited!!!

We come from Italy and we only visited DL Paris (me5 times, Marco only1), so I'm little nervous cause I don't know if I'm planning correct or not.

Before to get to WDW we'll stay 8days in New York to celebrate our 4th anniversary! (on 19th)

Hope to have some advices from you, cause I really need them!!!
Sounds like a wonderful vacation!!

As for planning WDW, just think of this trip as trying a little bit of a lot! You won't be able to see and do everything but that's ok. Enjoy the things you are able to see and do!

It was different when the SPD knocked it down to 240's. What to do...what to do... How do I join the FB group? Excited to find this thread of Disney Family!
Both are great options!! We were lucky enough to get the AP discount on the AoA suite so it's coming at a great price -- I can't wait!! I toured AoA in July and just knew we had to come back and actually stay there.

The boys will be surprised on Christmas Day with the trip. We went once before children, once with our oldest was 6 and then our last trip was with both boys two years ago. We spend little time in the resort and have always stayed at Sports. This year I debated trying a moderate for just $200 more, but didn't see anything to draw me there since we have never swam during January. Looking forward to the countdown with you guys. Any ideas for surprising my kids on Christmas Day?
Hey, if you all like AS Sp, that's great!

My goal is to try every resort at least once (just need to stay at GF and FWC sometime and we are trying out AoA this January). We enjoy the resorts. I tried out Pop Century this past July and think that is now my favorite Value resort.

But really, you can't go wrong with any of the Disney resorts, ya know?

We have never been to DisneyWorld, but are Disneyland annual passholders from San Francisco area. We usually get to Anahiem once every 4-6 months for a quick trip but planning our honeymoon has taken on a life of its own. If anyone is willing to look over my plans for each day and ADRs, I would super appreciate it. I'm worried that I've got it all wrong.
I'm sure there is nothing "wrong" about your plans but the good folks on here will be happy to tweak your schedule, I'm sure!

Our family will be in Orlando January 7-18, and we hope to do all four WDW parks while we're there. I'm the instigator, then there's hubby, DD19, DS18, DS16, DD15 and DD12. We're staying offsite because we like our space. We originally planned to go in May, which is when we've gone before, but things changed.

January's a good time to go, right? I said we've gone in May before, but that's just to Orlando -- only DD15 and I have been to any of the Disney parks. We've both done a half day at the Magic Kingdom (with the Give a Day thingie in 2010) and we've both been to Disneyland -- although I was in DL in the 1970s, while DD was there in 2010. No one else was interested in WDW in 2010, and in 2011 they all voted for SeaWorld again. So I'm hoping to convert a few this time around.
January is a good time to go to WDW .. but then again, so is any month!!

The best reasons for January are lower crowds, cooler/nicer weather and decent discounts. However, this January may be a bit more crowded due to FLE.

Is January my favorite time to go? Nope! But we do still enjoy it and have fun! I just miss the ability to swim and use water parks (although we did swim one day this past Jan).

Let your family help plan what to see and do and then hopefully, they will enjoy Disney more!

Welcome! I remember staying in the Alligator Bayou section one time -- very rustic...we enjoyed but I wouldn't particularly ask for that again. This past July we stayed in the Royal Rooms (just my DD7 and me) and it was sooooo perfect for a Mommy and Me trip!!

Grin.. now oldest wants to do this as his senior trip. So we are looking at going sometime between 3rd or 4th of January and leaving the 11th or 12th. My guess is that we will spend the 3rd to the 5th with them in Tampa and then go on to the Orlando area.

I had such a detailed itinerary last time and this feels so incredibly last minute. I know we will probably spend 2 or 3 days in the Universal area, but then 4 or 5 days at Disney I guess.

Any tips? Since we stay offsite, it looks like maybe the 5 day tickets to disney are the best value.
Welcome!

I'm planning to make some little boxed surprises as a countdown for my 7 yr old DS -- I have pins for trading and stickers for his journal -- does anyone have other ideas for very small items I could put in there? I was thinking about candy or money. The boxes are quite small...about the size of a ring box.
You can also put a note inside the box that leads to a bigger gift! Or even write the note and then cut it into puzzle shapes and put one piece in for each day.

1.Are there any free dining deals going on that I could book with, or am I too late.
2. We could go with AAA, would we do better with them?
Also I did receive a discount code in the mail, but can't find it now, maybe because it expired?
Any advise would be great.
Thank you in advance,
Peggy
If you haven't already, call Disney and see what codes are associated with your name. They may already have on file for you and not know it.

Just remember that this is NOT a given. We have put our birthday down on our ressies and sometimes we get something special and other times not...guess it all depends on your server and how busy he/she is.

I just had to post because im sooo excited......today we paid off our balance....we are going to Walt Disney World!!!

I have been dreaming about going since I was a little girl. For the last 10 years I have been trying to plan a trip but something ALWAYS came up. Not this time! We are booked, paid in full, flights bought...we are going!!

I just had to share! I have been running all over the house yelling "im going to Disney World" lol.

Thanks for understanding!

Yeah, the FLE worries me a bit, especially since most of it officially opens right in Christmas season, so January's the most logical choice if someone can go then and doesn't want to wait until it's all done. Touring plans and Easy WDW both have the crowd levels well below when we've gone in May, though, and we did DL in the summer, so I figure for sure they won't be any worse than when we've gone before!

I think we'll be okay for January even with the New FL. There may be a slight bump in crowds probably from visitors that live closer by that can make a short trip during the weekends but I think most people around the country will still be limited by their work and school schedules to plan a vacation in January. At least, that's my hope!

60 days ... Can't wait!!

I take a solo trip every year during one-or-other of the two quietest weeks in the World, and love it! Crowd levels are SO low! A tiny bit of commando-ing those weeks and I never ever wait in an attraction line. It's awesome! First time at ASMusic this time, so that'll be fun to.

ETA - Jan 22 to 28, ASMusic!
