By the way - IF the port dates in Maui are correct, I would expect to see two one-way cruises from Vancouver. The islands visited may be in a different order, but I'm pretty sure Honolulu is between the two Maui dates.
Ok, I'll bite , how is Vancouver "distant" but not Ensenada?

DCL may still do roundtrip Hawaii cruises from Los Angeles, but this doesn't appear to me to be one. The ship has to reposition itself after the Alaska season. The one-way cruises between Vancouver and Hawaii are shorter, probably spend one more day in Hawaiian ports, and most importantly to Disney - allow people to combine it with a stay at their Aulani resort. To me it is a much more attractive itinerary than roundtrip from Los Angeles.

Neither are distant ports. However, a one-way cruise to or from Hawaii could begin or end in either because they aren't US ports. What the ship can't do is a one-way cruise that begins or ends in California with a port stop in Ensenada. Mexico has to be the beginning or end of that cruise.

Panama Canal cruises make a distant port stop along the way - usually Aruba or Curacao (which is close to South America) or Cartagena, Colombia.

it doesn't have to be distant it just has to be foreign. Many cruiselines that do round trip hawaii cruises stop in encinada. and the alaskan ones stop at victoria. They only stay a few hours before sailing on to the home ports.

It has to be a distant foreign port if you are traveling one way between 2 different US Ports (say, LA to Honolulu). What you're saying is only true for round trip cruises leaving & returning to the same US Port.

Maybe its coming to Sydney - Australia. The other cruise lines come from Alaska about that time of year. Nothing on the Sydney Port Schedule though. Just wishful thinking.

I first want to say, and I mean no disrespect or anything like that, this thread had me cracking up laughing. All this thread tells me is DCL is staying on the West Coast, just like I have been told by someone in Celebration with knowlage of what's going on. I read this and people have the iteneraries all figured out. That's the part that is making me laugh. I am on the April sailing. If you look at the four port schedules for Hawaii we are not even listed for Kawai and we are overnighting in Honolulu. Neither are the case. Those same links have different departure times for us than what is being said by DCL. So I take it all with a grain of salt and calling the Maui port listing as a place holder till DCL finalizes what they are going to do. I still think it is fun to speculate, as the speculation on here is awesome. I will say that living in L.A. I am glad that it looks like the Wonder is not leaving the West.

So the Wonder does not show up on the 2012 port schedule for April? Asking because I'm hoping for a round trip in 2013 (have no interest in Aulani and don't need to stay in Hawaii).

The Wonder is listed for the April cruise calling on the Big Island, Maui, and Honolulu. Not in Kawai. The Wonder is listed twice in Oct for Kawai.

It's all speculation based on one port's cruise calendar. However, if those dates in Maui are correct, I think my itinerary might not be far off. We'll know soon enough!

The April 2012 itinerary on DCL's web site shows it in Kauai and not overnighting in Honolulu. Are you saying the port schedules are wrong or DCL's web site is?
