If you eat at Caesars, you might want to go to a bar there named "Shadow", trust me your husband will like it (although the drinks are ridiculously expensive).
Cool, thanks for the heads up....

They say the recipe for Sprite is lemon and lime, but I tried to make it at home....There's more to it than that!

Another vote for Picasso...we went a few weeks ago and it was awesome. If you've been to Victoria & Alberts, it is a similar experience, except with Picasso paintings on the wall and an incredible view of the Bellagio fountains. We also did Mesa Grill for lunch one day..it was good but didn't blow me away. We hit the Wynn Buffet, which was pretty amazing, even for a guy that hates buffets like myself. Oh and be sure to hit Jean Phillipe for some sweets in the Bellagio.

I'm slowly working my way through reviews of everywhere we visited on my site. I'll be sure to share all of these when they're done

We go on a "girls only" trip to Vegas yearly, and I have been with my DH many times we and have loved Mesa Grill, the SW steakhouse, Burger Bar (casual but really yummy), the buffet in Paris, and anything at the Wynn or Encore. Enjoy the Vegasness of Vegas. It is truly somewhere you can eat a good meal at any time of the day and enjoy so many things. There are TONS of good bars and night clubs, and places to take in a good view. Have a great time.

We loved Emerils at MGM. Another good restaurant is Mon Ami Gabi at Paris. If you get an outside table you can watch the Bellagio fountains.
We always eat at Spago at the Forum shops (the cafe portion) good food and people watching.
BLT Burger at Mirage was good.Next trip I want to try the Burger Bar at Mandalay Place.
We've stayed at NYNY and the Mirage. Since you are looking to go in May I'd voted for the Mirage as it had a really good pool area (or another hotel w/ a good pool ) Unless they have redone it in the last few years the pool area at NYNY is nothing special. In fact it was the main reason we didn't go back the last 2 times(we would gladly go back if it we go during non-pool season)

Thanks... we have done V&A before and loved it, so thanks for the comparison.

My DH and I neither one really like buffets, but you are giving this one a thumbs up..hmmmm...

I would love to see your final reviews, if you want to leave the link here or PM me if you like...

Thanks again.

Well it is official, we are now staying on points at the Embassy Suites Las Vegas. It was free with all the points we had.

We both had enough Southwest points for free flights to Vegas.

So right now we have flights and a place to stay.

I also changed it now an April date, so we will be there mid April.... Whoop..

DH and I leave for Vegas at the end of the month, and the only thing we have set in stone to do is Volcano Nachos at Margaritaville!

We got restaurant.com coupons for Hash House a GoGo, but may or may not use them. The restaurant is at our hotel that we are staying in this time (Imperial Palace), so it will be convenient, if nothing else.

DH is content to play Keno all day. I like to walk around and explore the shops and hotels and take pictures.

Our first trip to LV was 2 years ago - we stayed at Ballys and liked it.
Last year we stayed at Excalibur 2x - once for our mini-vacation, and once for Nascar.

We liked the location of Ballys the best, and Imperial Palace is just a couple hotels away, and mid-strip (very important to us).

We got a great deal - $375 for air PDX-LAS, 2 nights @ Imperial Palace, and airport shuttle transfers (we don't like taxis much). Paid the extra for early bird check in with Southwest (they are not our favorite airline, but were cheapest by $150 for our trip) so we will see how that goes.

If we make it to Cheesecake Factory, that would be great too. We are not seeing any shows, but saw The Lion King and the Wax Museum last year, and the Titanic Exhibit the year before.

I highly recommend getting a book too. I have the 2011 Unofficial Guide to Las Vegas that I used multiple times to peek through and get information.

Have a great time in Vegas and thanks for the reminder about restaurant.com...I have some money there too I could use.

As promised, here's my review of Picasso. The room alone is worth the cost of going, but I found the food to not be on par with V&A's. We would still return because it really is a special place...

Thanks for the update, I read every word and looked at every picture intently.

The review was great and sorry it was not the WOW you were looking for. WE have had some wonderful meals and some so so meals at some highly rated venues, so I know it happens, I just don't like it.

I wanted to add this here just so I would not forget...

This is a 24/7 bus system that runs to different casinos.

We used the Deuce to visit Fremont Street. Cheap, clean, and very convenient. If you're heading up there, make sure you hop on the express because it only makes about 4 stops between Fremont and The Strip as opposed to more like 10...
