No. The rates go as low as $0.30 per minute. But usually you can find a coffee shop in a port with free or really cheap wifi.

Internet/Wireless Internet Access
For sailings 7-nights or longer: Pay as you go - $0.75 per minute
100 min for $55.00 ($.55 per minute)
250 min for $100 ($.40 per minute)
500 min for $150 ($.30 per minute)
Printing $0.25 per page

there will be wifi, but it will NOT be free.

It's actually rather expensive, compounded by the fact that the satellite connections used at sea are generally very slow. As noted, your best shot at free wifi is in the ports.

No one knows what it WILL be because it isn't yet. One cam speculate that it will be the same as the Magic since it will do the same cruises.

Question for anyone who has used the wifi on the ships:
It's obviously slow, but would it take like, an hour to load a 15-20 minute video? I think it's ridiculous to pay for the wifi, especially when we are all on vacation, trying to escape the stress, but for me, this is an exception. I realllyyy NEED to find a way to watch this video thursday night.

Well how big will the file be?

10Mb, 100Mb, 1Gb?
The resolution and file size make your question unanswerable with the information you have provided!

I honestly have no idea. It will be premiering on E! Thursday night, and I just thought about possibly being lucky enough that the stateroom tv's would have that channel, but doubtful. Other than that, the only way I'll be able to watch it is through the VEVO app, which I'm pretty sure uses wifi

Streaming live video and audio is very very unlikely, and the connectivity between the ship and satellite is fairly unstable.

Can a neighbor or friend record it for you to watch when you get home?

Well the thing is, I could easily watch it when we get back into port on Sunday morning, but I'm impatient when it comes to this specific artist. I've never missed a premiere of hers >_<
I was just hoping there would be a way to watch it when it premieres

It might take longer than that to download a video. I've been on cruises where it took 20 minutes just to load a webpage. And the connection will NOT be good for streaming anything. The ship blocks streaming sites, and sites like Skype, because of bandwidth problems. if you MUST watch the video, it will probably cost you.

concierge

To be precise, I'm pretty sure that certain suites have some free internet access. I think some nice suites get a certain number of minutes included, and the .... Walt or Roy suite... no surprise... i think is unlimited.

Again, this is based on fuzzy memory of trip report...

Just read some info about VEVO...it is a video streaming app, so it will not work on the ship.

Many cruise lines block streaming video sites; there just isn't the bandwidth to handle it over the satellite connection they use. Internet access on a cruise ship ain't what you're used to on land. It's expensive, it's very slow, and it's limited.

It's often pretty easy to find free wi-fi in port, I'd just go looking for some at your next stop after the video premiere and watch it then.
