Leave work and get on the road by 3:30pm. Drive

Sounds like all do similar things to prepare:

- Make sure things needed for the trip are packed in the suitcases
- Finish laundry
- Clean house
- Take out all trash from every trash can
- Make sure the dishwasher is clean and empty (you do not want to leave dirty dishes in there, it will stink up the house)
- Place all luggage tags on suitcases
- Make sure boarding passes, etc. are ready to go
- Pull all items together that will be needed in the morning and then packed
- Make sure the list is ready for the cat/house sitters with all instructions and emergency contacts

Then it's time to go! 22 Days today!!!!

look back on old photos

get last minute tips from the DIS community.

the usual stuff (check cases, tickets,)

before bed my DW & Me both have to wish upon a star and wish for a happy stress free vacation.

Well, for our next trip, I'll be graduating from seminary the night before. That's kind of a one time thing though, not a ritual.

I empathize with the cpap folks, because I use one myself. It's a little extra pain at the last minute, but sleep is is wonderful thing.

All the packing will have to be done way ahead, and we will drive from Ft. Wayne to Indy and stay at Kelly's folk's house.

We're doing exactly that. Our flight leave Sacramento a little after 6am, and I do not want to have to get up at 2am in order to be there by 5. We're staying at a hotel with a shuttle, which also currently has a deal allowing guests to leave their cars in the secured hotel lot during their vacation, up to 14 days. Way less expensive than airport parking, and less stress letting the hotel shuttle drivers worry about navigating the airport. We'll also be spending the night that we return at the hotel as our flight gets in after 11pm and I will not want to drive after losing 3 hours to the time change.

..oh, and i have a particual way of setting up blankets and pillows in the car each year, lol.

Sounds like we all pretty much have the same hustle and bustle day the day before! I forgot to include mine! I usually am all packed up at least a week before, so I take the car to get washed/cleaned, then gas up and my husband checks out all of the tires. That night I make sure the house is straight then we order pizza and watch tv. I'm always exhausted at the end of the day but way to excited to sleep!

Double checking "the LIST" ..... I start packing a week out, double checking the weather, getting the theme park box out and checking what needs to be replaced and what's good to go.
All the suitcases are line up and open on the guest room bed.
I go shopping, making sure that I have everything that we need and I mean everything for everyone.

The night before I check everyone suitcase, which is a must! one year my youngest DD ( 15 at the time) packed 2 pairs of shorts and 15 shirts.

We get take out for dinner and watch a disney movie, then to bed.

Now that my family is grown-up... I will still make everyone come to our house and I will do the suitcases check...

We catch the 1st NS flight out of PIT on SWA which is a crack of dawn affair. I make sure to pop a couple of benedryl the night before to get a few hours of sleep otherwise I'm tossing & turning like a kid the night before Christmas .

Hi, my next Disney trip is 21 days away! I can't wait! I pretty much do all the same things everyone else does but I also change my bedsheets the day before to my Disney sheets. I have a set of sheets with the whole gang on them, it makes me happy to have them on my bed the day before and it's the only time of year they get used.

day before? try a month before :)

Like many of you, I am way to excited and cant sleep at all. As of now, i have 21 days until my first solo trip and ive been listening to DW music radio stations such as the ones on live365.com, I keep reading trip reports and researching what i should do first and how many times . Im almost having as much fun counting down the days than when i walk through the front gate. Whatever helps me transition from the real world and the world we live in.

We try to sleep as much as possible to prepare for our departure around midnight for the 15-hour drive. Also, checking, checking and rechecking for everything, haha.

Besides all the normal stuff, my little sister and I watch Disney movies, watch youtube videos of rides that she think she might be scared to go on so that when we get there theres a better chance that she will, play Disney headbands, and look at old Disney pictures.

Of course we haven't quite done this ruitine yet considering she was 3 when we last went, but we will this summer!
