Preferred rooms are casitas 1, 2 and 3. They are close to the main building (so close to breakfast), but not that close to the main pool. Cabanas 9B and 9A are close to the main pool and the main building, but they are by request - you could end up far from the main building unless you book preferred.

We always request cabanas and usually get it, but it is just a request. We are more interested in being close to the main pool than the main building.

I just wanted to share this photo I took last night at the Coronado Springs Resort.

It's such a beautiful and magical place, one of my all time favorite resorts to explore.

There really isn't a section that is close to both, I'm afraid. We were in Casitas 4 and it was a short walk to both, almost in the middle between the two.

Quick question: What are people's experience with doing online check in VS check in at the resort? The only request I want to make is that I was hoping to be in the casitas section. Not sure whether to check in now or wait until we get there.

We did the standard check in, and it was very quick. I want to say we arrived around 5pm, and there was only one person ahead of us in line.

We are probably going to get to Disney around 8-10am. Our plan was to get checked in and if our room wasn't ready to leave our luggage and head to Animal Kingdom Until our room was ready.

Online check-in can be helpful if you are arriving early and hope to have your room ready when you arrive. (Athough it is not a guarantee that your room will be ready, the check-in folks will know what time you are arriving and will try to have a room ready for you if they can.)

Standard check-in is helpful if you have a location preference and want to try to switch your room to another location. The online check-in CMs can search for another room and make new keys, but it takes longer, and most people do online check-in to speed things up. If you have several requests, you might hold up the people behind you in line - typically there are only one or two online check-in CMs. Standard check-in is also helpful if you are staying at a resort for the first time - you will get more discussion with the CMs, although the packet materials are the same.

Thank you so much for the advice Maybe I will just wait until we get there. Is there any way to make a room request ahead of time if we don't do online check in? We booked through AAA, so I'm assuming I would need my travel agent to call for us.

Yes, call your TA and have them note your requests. And be sure to mention you will be on your honeymoon!

I am going to call tomorrow morning If I request the casitas section, is it hard to get since 3 of the 5 buildings are preferred?

Also, I just thought of this and couldn't find an answer. I know the dig site typically closes at 11pm, but do the quiet pools have a closing time? Or can you use the pools at any time as long as you're "quiet?"

I think cabanas are the most requested non-preferred section. Your luck will just depend on how full the resort is and how many other people have made the same request. Some people have gotten upgraded to preferred rooms - it just depends on how full the resort is.

I found on Buzz's CSR site that the quiet pools close at midnight.
