My darling hubby will turn 60 in January and has always wanted to see Disney at Christmas with the decorations, Osborne Lights, etc. So I thought...what the heck? Why not surprise him?

We'll arrive at the Coronado on December 6 (Thursday) and depart late in the day on Monday, December 10.

I can't wait to be home.
That is awesome!!!

Hard to believe with all your Disney trips you've never seen the Christmas decorations. All of our trips have been at Christmas, I have a hard time picturing it without the Christmas cheer!

We are going on our 2nd Disney vacation in September and chose to stay at CSR. We stayed at CBR last year and really liked it so I hope our kids like it here too. My parents are also going and we requested ajoining rooms. Does anyone know what buildings have ajoining rooms? We haven't put in a request for a specific location yet and was just wondering if anyone has ever had ajoining rooms at CSR? Thanks is advance!

All casitas and cabanas preferred?

I called WDW reservations yesterday to see if I could upgrade to a preferred room for our trip in late August and was told no preferred rooms were available. So I then asked him to please confirm for me that my request for Casitas was noted on my reservation. The man on the phone said it was, but that I probably wouldn't get a room there because all Casitas rooms were preferred. I said "all of them"? He said yes. I mentioned that we like Cabanas too and he said that Cabana rooms were preferred too! What is going on? We stayed standard in '10 at CSR in Cabanas... He then went on to try to get me to switch to POFQ (I didn't ). I am disappointed in this confusing information!

NO! Casitas 1, 2 and 3 are the ONLY preferred buildings. The reservation person had NO idea what he was talking about.

Nope not all, only blds 1, 2 & 3. Unless they have a big block of rooms set aside for Celebration 6. They are advertising room for c6 starting at $129 at csr for Aug 23-26.

A surprise bday at CSR sounds like a lot of fun! Looking forward to your report from September!

Thank you for the info! While my mom can take stairs, I don't want her too and with my youngest nephew being a pumpkin (baby), it will be a pain to manage. I will definitely mention that we would like to make sure we are on a floor that has an elevator.

I'll be at the CSR for the first time June 17-20. I'm lucky enough that my job is having our department meetings there. I won't get to go to the parks, but I still get to enjoy a little Disney magic before my trip with the GF in October.

Thanks, friend. I know Mark will be very happy celebrating his 60th back "home." I have a PTR going on now (we'll be at OKW in September, CSR in December).
