I'm sure it will be fine. I actually use the high school football team weight room where my husband works, so it's probably nicer than my own gym. Thank you.

We just booked our first trip to CSR for September!!!! We have been looking and looking and wanting to stay at CSR, but everytime we've gone to WDW it's been booked solid. Well, we just made the change from POP to CSR. The pics look awesome and my kiddos are super excited about the pool.

When I have more time I will read through all the posts on this thread. But in the meantime, what are some things I should know before we go? Any tips and/or advice?

It has plenty of cardio machines along with free weights. I worked out every day and lift allot more then the average guy and found it a very good workout. I truly believe they had over 600 lbs of plates for the smith machine and dumbbells up to 50lbs. I was there every day around 6am and it was not busy at all.

Welcome to the thread. There's lot of great advice and info throughout. I hope you enjoy CSR as much as we do.

There are 3 villages and each is distinctly different, however the interior of each room is identicle. (With the exception corner rooms which have 2 windows, suites, and handicap rooms.)

I'm sure your kids will love the pool! Mine do!

There have been posts about the club level at Coronado Springs, but it is not an option for room selection. Can anyone report how they booked the club level?

I believe club level is only reserved for guests at a convention. It's not a bookable selection for the average guest.

Generally, club level is only available if a convention pays to have those services. But someone posted recently about being upgraded to club level and they were not with a convention. CSR was apparently testing club level, and some resorts guests got some pixie dust!

Club level rooms are in cabana 9B if it is booked by a convention. AT other times, 9B is available for guests without club level services.

Club level is not a bookable category - at least, not yet! Here's hoping it will be a new feature at CSR.

Our luggage tags and booklet came in the mail yesterday. We will be at CSR in 28 days and can't wait. Son is becoming more excited by the day.

Beware the Mold in 7B

I just got back from spending last week at CSR. It was my first time staying there & probably my last.

I did online check in, before I read here that I probably shouldn't have. But there was no queue at check-in & the CM was very accommodating with changing room assignments. I had booked a double asking for a ground floor room near the Dig Site. (I have knee problems & wanted easy access to the whirlpool.) & was assigned 2nd flr of Casitas 4. :-(

So after 1/2 an hour at the desk. Got keys to 7656 (Ranchos 7B, 2nd flr) We unpacked but were wondering why I was getting congested & my mom was loosing her voice... then I opened the bathroom door & got hit with air so moldy I couldn't breathe. It was getting late & we were tired & hungry, so caught the bus back to El Centro. After a margarita I was ready to go back to the front desk... an hour later they said they had a room that housekeeping had checked & was mold free. So I limped to another room on the same level (as far from the elevator, which I needed, as one could possibly get). I could tell that they had sprayed some febreeze-like air "cleaner" in the main room, but the mold in the bathroom was almost as bad as the room we were in. Called to the front & arranged to meet the housekeeping manager at another room in Cabanas 8A. That bathroom was slightly musty, but I could breathe (Unlike the 2 previous).

I've stayed at other hotels in the Orlando area & have never had mold issues like this before.

The Coronado might have better common facilities (The whirlpool was fabulous - jets at ankle height!) but the rooms themselves are mediocre motel quality. I guess what really let us down was the fact that the Super 8 we stayed at in Savannah, GA on our drive down had better quality rooms.

The rest of our trip was great, just bummed that the CSR didn't match it.

Have stayed at CSR for 14 nights each of the last 2 Christmas. The first stay was in Ranchos 7B. Never saw any mold anywhere on either stay. Rooms were great, service was great, would recommend CSR to everyone I know.

Sorry CSR didn't live up to your expectations. In our several stays at CSR, we have never encountered a moldy room. We did have one at OKW, but my DH and DD both test positive for mold allergies at the allergist and are far more sensitive than most people. Most people probably wouldn't have noticed it at OKW.

The ranchos are the least requested area, so maybe you found some stale air in a room that had been unoccupied for a while. Cabana 8A is our favorite spot, and those rooms are very well-loved. Casitas 4 is very popular, too - you might have been happier with that room.

I've never stayed at a Super 8, but you must have found a nice one in Savannah. We thought the beds at CSR were more comfortable than the beds at Poly, Beach Club, OKW and AKL; we had very clean rooms; the water pressure was great; the A/C worked very well; and the rooms were very quiet. If there is a Super 8 that can deliver all that, I need to reconsider that chain of hotels!

We had a similar experience at POR years ago (please note we have stayed at POR many times and had many wonderful room experiences, just one really bad one).

I'm sorry that your room accomodations were not up to par. That is very unusual for an onsite Disney vacation. Did you physically see the mold? Do you think the breathing problem could have been caused by the Zephaire Mountain Mist deodorizer they use? My oldest son is somewhat allergic to that smell and his nose clogs up pretty much right away. But I just love that scent!!

We stayed 3 different times last year and our rooms were awesome! They were very clean and the only smell of the room was the Zephaire Mountain Mist Deodarizer.

That's too bad rhul...sorry you had to deal with that

We were in Castias 3 last week, and just so everyone know the room was fresh and mold free (I am sensitive) in fact it smelled like noting at all. ie no air freshener.

I got an update from Buzz about club level - unfortunately, there are no plans for CSR to offer it as a booking category.

He says " if you are lucky enough to stay in cabana 9b, the CM's can upgrade you to the club level lounge (if a convention is going on) but CSR has no intention of making it a room category for all guests."

Sorry but I haven't read through all the pages but I was wondering if your party of 3 goes to the buffet in the morning but only 2 eat (I don't eat breakfast - just give me plenty of coffee) would I be charged for 3 buffets or just 2?
