Animal Kingdom Secret Path

I have been looking for this darn thing for three trips now. I cannot believe that I actually saw this entrance with my wife and said no I do not think that is it, but I stumbled on this website this has great pics of the actual trail.

Has anyone tried this recently? Did you get busted? Last time there I was asking cast members about it and they were clueless.

I've never seen that path or noticed it but I'm a stick to the obviously marked walkways kind of gal.

Interesting story.

I went on that path YEARS ago when the AK first opened. I would take my kids back there and play in the little stream. It was really easy to find back then. They added the smoking section right in front of the entrance and then the entrance was hard to find. The little stream and waterfall were right behind it. The last time we were by the stream was probably the late 90's/early 2000. We looked around for it last January but couldn't find it. I know Robo had some good maps of it the last time this discussion came up!

Looks kind of hard to spot to me. Thanks for sharing this little secret, though. I will look for it next time.

We stompled around back there during our trip late August. found the stream and the stones placed in it pretty quickly...after that it just kind of peters out and basically it's just...woods. All grown over.

I love the idea of unknown areas and quiet spots etc and I have to say this really wasn't thrilling in any way. I wouldn't bother.

Much better is the very obvious "secret" path by the tree of life...through the ITTBAB exits...no one hardly goes there and it has GREAT views of the tree.

Yes we did do the tree of life path. We went from over by Africa and I believe it dumps over by the ITTBAB exit. It was very pretty and the tree was straight up above you. The detail is amazing.

As for the path we have been trying to find this sucker. Disappointed to here it is grown over and not much. Anyone else try it?

the path is grown over now and not really worth the effort -except to have done it. When AK first opened it was a cool little area.

Since it is now so overgrown/replanted, I would worry about snakes. They love AK, and that looks like a prime area for them.

How do you find the "not as secret" secret path near ITTBAB? I'm not interested in the path OP is talking about because it sounds too snakey for me but I am interested in this other path some of the previous posters are talking about.
p.s. I have only spent about 3 hours at AK my entire life and am a newbie so you have to give clear directions
I'm very interested in getting to see the tree up close

The idea of a secret path makes me curious about it, but the thought of snakes will cross that path off my 'to-do' list. I do love the 'not-so-secret' path by the Tree of Life. Great views of the kangaroos back there, too.
