Hi Stefy!
Glad to see you back and posting your cruise pics. You posted them the exact day we left for our Florida vacation this year, so I am pretty late in commenting.
Looks like you had a really fun first day on board. Hope to hear more!

Thanks DCL is amazing I don't think any other cruise line can compare in my opinion. You guys defo should try one, like us you could go for a 3 nighter just to test the waters, so to speak

Thanks for the congrats. Kitties are doing good, getting big (but not too big). Will post some life updates if I can after I've finished the report

Friday September 16th
Today was our first port adventure in Nassau. We woke up early as we still weren't adjusted properly time wise, so got ready and headed into the lounge to see what was on offer for breakfast.

After a quick breakfast we decided to check out the concierge deck to see what it was like.

Is quite nice up there and peaceful. Can defo see us spending more time there next time.

We still weren't near to Nassau as of yet so we went exploring outside a bit more taking pics along the way.

Stitchy's on the big screen

We were slowly pulling into port so we thought we would go to the front and see our first ever Caribbean island. Only prob was it was so windy I could't breathe, they have these screens you can stand behind to check out the view, but man it was so windy. I had to leave Dave to it and step back.

A fellow passenger kindly offered to take our photo

We made to head back to the room to get ready for our excursion, taking more inside pics along the way.

We made our way to where we were supposed to meet for today's excursion in one of the theatres. All wrist banded up we headed out to leave the ship and on to another waiting boat that was taking us to Blue Lagoon.

Today we were going to meet and play with some sealions. I apologise, but I can't remember the names of our two, but we met two girls who were both gorgeous and friendly and very playful.

We sat through orientation and then proceeded down to see the sealions. We each got a photo op standing next to one of the girls and then got into the water to learn some more about them and have another photo taken with the other one.

I have a two magnets of our meet and also one photo. Will try and get a pic of the magnet ones up when I can. In the mean time here is a photo of one of our encounters.

We were free to stay around the island and explore and use the beach, but we ended up getting our photos, a quick ice cream and then headed back to wait for the next boat.

We were free to stay around the island and explore and use the beach, but we ended up getting our photos, a quick ice cream and then headed back to wait for the next boat.

Once back in Naussau we made our way through the market to get back to the boat. The lounge was serving lunch appetisers and we sat down and enjoyed a glass of wine and food on the deck for a little while.

After our drink we headed back to our room to chill. The worlds largest cruise ship (Royal Caribbean) was docked right opposite our ship. Man this ship is huge, but not very pretty looking.

Tonight was pirate night and our housekeeper had left us some bandanas to join in. We decided that the Stitchy's would benefit from them more than us :

We also had our turndown service for the evening as well which was beautiful

Also waiting for us was a little gift/reminder of our excursions for the next day.

So cute isn't it, we bought it back with us and hopefully I can find somewhere (away from my little tearing terrors to put it).

Dinner tonight was at Royal Palace, but unfortunately had to be cut short due to me being so tired. For some reason on the cruise I was absolutely knackered out by the end of the day and could hardly stay awake (as you'll see in one the pics coming up). I think it was a combination of still adjusting to the time zone, being so relaxed on this cruise and also I think as the wedding was done I didn't have so much to stress about/organise etc. Anywho back to the report.

I can't remember what we had exactly, but I do remember ordering a non alcoholic slushy type drink which was divine and deliciously fruity.

The decor

Love the light fixtures

Sleepy me

We didn't make dessert as I just couldn't stay awake, so we headed back to the room to sit on the balcony to watch the fireworks and also to see if a certain someone was going to be around.

Way back when we had our intro meeting in the CL lounge we mentioned to Melanie that we were huge fans of Stitch to which she made a note of. Later on that day Thomas and Julia said that they had heard that a certain someone was going to come up to the lounge to congratulate the newly weds So off we went to the lounge to go and see if this certain someone had turned up and look and see who was waiting for us

Pirate Stitchy!!! Our lovely CL team had wonderfully arranged for Pirate Stitch to come and say hello and congratulate us on our marriage. We were so chuffed and excited to see him.

He couldn't stay long as he had to join in the pirate festivities, so we let him to it.

We had heard previously that this particular Stitch was very naughty and one time had pressed all the buttons in the elevator. As we walked past the elevator he was in I told him not to press any buttons now (his fingers were hovering naughtily over them) and he jumped in surprise bless him

After our exciting encounter we went back to our room and waited for the fireworks to start. We don't have any photos, but we do have video which I shall try and upload when I can

All in all not a bad day was had. We encountered sealions, went to a new place we have never been before and got to meet Pirate Stitchy

You ready for more?

Saturday September 17th
Today was the best day ever from the cruise and the most memorable that even now it makes me grin like a Cheshire Cat

We had finally arrived at Castaway Cay. We had two excursions booked for the day and were up bright and early (again) and raring to go. We decided to try out Cabanas for breakfast and sit outside to soak in the surroundings.

Breakfast done with we went back to the room to get our things and head down for our first excursion which was parasailing. We had a few hiccups at first when we arrived, as we had to wait ages for the last couple of people to turn up. But turn up they did and off we went. Again, we have no photos, but we do have video.

I wasn't sure about doing this at first, but it is amazing and I cannot wait to do it again. Going up is so cool and you go higher and higher until you think, ok how high is this going. The views are breathtaking and the feeling of being up there is so peaceful. There was one point where I got a little freaked out and that was when we reached a point where we weren't moving at all. It felt like we might drop at any moment it was that still, however, there was plenty of air in the chute to keep us afloat, lol. Coming down was fun too, we weren't sure about being dipped as for some reason we thought it would be cold, but cold it was not was lovely and warm.

We headed back after everyone had had their turn and said our goodbyes. We had left our bags in our room as we didn't want to haul them out on the boat with us. On the way Dave decided he want to try the Aquaduck (we hadn't even been on it at this point) so on we went, line wasn't that bad either. We got absolutely soaked and had to change, which was annoying as it was later than I would have liked to start our second excursion.

We finally made it out and waited for the bus to take us to the adult part of the island. We found the cabana hut and checked it and were taken to our very own private cabana for the day. We were escorted there by our cabana attendant, Nilan, who drove us all 5 feet of the way.

Fully stocked fridge

Snacks

The cabanas are amazing and I am so glad we booked it for the day as its an awesome base, esp for getting out of the sun and chilling. Also helps that we have unlimited snacks, drinks, etc. The views not bad either.

We ventured out on to beach and chilled for a bit. Our bellies started to rumble after a while and we called Nilan to take us to get some food from the BBQ buffet (Cookies 2?). In the golf cart we hopped, all 10 feet of the way. Seriously if I had known we could have just walked, but Nilan was insistent that we walk nowhere, not even to the bathroom.

Lunch was delish, loves me some BBQ food.

We also hopped across to the bar to get some cocktails.

The view from the bar

After lunch Dave took the one of the rubber floats out and floated away.

Dave decided to venture out and see if he could find any wildlife. He got a bit caught up in conversation with someone he met out at sea

He finally made his way back, encountering a sting ray along the way and various other marine life. As I can't swim I was a bit skeptical about going out into the water, so Dave plonked me on the float and bless him pushed me out to sea to see the fishes. We managed to film some, was so much fun as they kept swimming near his feet and between his legs, which freaked him out a little, but was hilarious for me to watch.

All to soon the time came that we had to pack up and head back to the boat. Nilan kindly drove us back in his little golf cart, stopping along the way so we could run into the shop quickly to get some souvenirs. I don't know if you are supposed to get a ride back to the ship, but he kindly did so and we made it back in plenty of time. He was a lovely guy, very vibrant and outgoing, we made a note of his details and later on on debarkation day we left him a little tip and cast member note of appreciation.

On the drive back Dave took some pics of the beauty that is the Dream.

Back in our room we had a lovely surprise waiting for us from the Concierge team.

We also had a note from our hosts for dinner tonight.

We dolled ourselves up and set off across the ship. One thing that we have negative wise is the location of Remy and Palo is not in the best location if you are at the front of the ship. We were running late (as I was having wardrobe difficulties) and we had to rush to get there, winding through the lower corridors (in heels) which wasn't fun.

My gorgeous husband

Then the culinary experience began.

First up was our strawberry, basil type champagne cocktail

The restaurant wasn't very busy tonight

Again, am sorry I can't remember what we had, but I do remember that we both went for the 7 course set menu. Dave French and me the other option.

Dave had also gone for the wine pairing with his meal and got to talking with our waiter and Sommelier Alex about the wines. Apparently there are very expensive wines on board, the most expensive being a $25,000 bottle of red I think. On the sailing from Germany one of the servers apparently broke one of these bottles and another had to be sent in

Anywho, Alex took Dave on a tour of the wine cellar they have on board.

Alex came back with a small book of plaques of the names of the expensive wines they have on board.

The overall meal was quite enjoyable and definitely an experience you should try at least once. Once dinner was done we were give some sweets to finish off and to say thank you for joining them.

I also got a lovely rose.

Extremely sated and sleepy we walked back to our room. Waiting for us was another lovely treat from Remy thanking us again for choosing to dining with them.

Also waiting was a surprise from Dave to me.

Dave had arranged for all the characters on board to sign the pillowcase with our wedding date on. So special and sweet

A perfect end to a perfect evening and cruise. To bed we went ready to start the second part of our honeymoon. In Walt Disney World

Omg an update of epic proportions!!

I am on the Dream next week and if it's possible, I'm even more excited than ever after reading these updates!

Your Palo and Remy experiences looked amazing, as did the cabana. It looks like you got great weather too!

I bet it seems so long ago for you both now, at least you have your next cruise to look forward to

Wow! Now that's what I call a REAL update!

I love all the pics of the ship, brings back so many happy memories for us too! The Cabanas are fab, aren't they?
And didn't I tell you that 3 nights is just too short of a cruise?

Can't wait to hear more!
