Hi! Yes all is well, sorry for the lack of updates. It's been an extremely busy few months for us. Stef will finish the TR & update as soon as she gets free time but not sure when that will be.

Hello

Gosh, I can't believe how long its been since I was last on the Dis. This poor TR. I do apologise, things have been so hectic lately, work is insane, we just moved into a new house, then we had birthday celebrations and new kittens all rolled into two months!

So I think its time we get this TR back on the road. I will skip the rest of DLRP. It was a fantastic trip and we were nearing the end. If you get a chance to do the tour then I would defo do it

Hope everyone is doing good, feel like I have so much to catch up

Thursday September 15th
We left off with the car having arrived to pick us up from AKL to take us to PC. The journey was pretty smooth and long, but before long we started to see signs of PC

It was very exciting to see the ship in the distance. Our very first cruise was nearly upon us

She truly is a magnificent ship.

Now having never done this before I was at a loss as to what to do, esp when I saw the incredibly long line to get into the terminal. No way was I going to be able to stand in that heat

As I was dealing with the driver, a CM came up to Dave to take our bags away. I had a momentary panic thinking "argh our bags, where are you taking them?!?" He directed us to the parking structure and told us to take the elevator up and make our way to what I think he said was customs for CL guests. Off we went, it seemed really weird doing it this way as it was as simple as 1) Up the elevator 2) show your passport 3) scan your bags and 4) Boom your in the terminal.

We stopped to take a few pictures

It was hard to get a good pic of this as there was lots of people around it, but we managed to get some good ones.

We weren't able to get a pic in front of this as everything happened pretty fast.

We found the area to check in

Was separate from the rest of the terminal and a little less manic which was nice, as I needed time to gather myself as everything was happening so fast!

We checked in and went through all the necessary paperwork etc and were handed our keys to the room. We were taken in a group towards the entrance to the ship and waited to be announced.

It wasn't as grand as one would have thought it to be, but it was fun, esp as our announcer was from England too.

We were then met at the elevator by another CM who took us up to Deck 12 and into the CL lounge to finalise everything.

Dave took some photos along the way

It was Happy Hour in the lounge and we happily ordered some drinks, as it was scorchingly hot outside.

Melanie, one of the CL team sat down and went through our itinerary with us and also to see if there was anything we were interested in doing, like the spa etc. We chatted a bit about the wedding, honeymoon and how we loved going to Disney and that Stitch was our favourite character etc. She left the table at that point and came back with these

How cool are these and apparently DCL is the only place you can get them.

After we were officially checked in and acquainted with the team we headed off in search of our room, which turned out to be literally right opposite the lounge

Sorry for some of the poor quality pics, we'll get better ones next time

I love the pillows

the products are amazing, we esp loved the aftersun which was heavenly to use after a hot day in the sun

I had arranged another little surprise for Dave to start off our honeymoon cruise

We had some time to pop the cork on the champers before the muster drill

We decided to check out the spa quickly as the Navigator was showing an Embarkation Day Special. We booked ourselves in for later that afternoon, then we set off for the muster drill. We were lucky enough to have ours inside in the theatre, others less fortunate had to stand on deck, they must have been melting away :-(

We decided to skip the Sail Away Party and went back to the room to sit on the balcony. Was quite peaceful watching the harbour go by.

I heard people going "woah look at that" and "there are loads of them" I looked down to see what everyone was talking about and gasped, there in the water was tons and tons of jellyfish, clusters of them! You can't see it v well in the pics, but there were loads of them!

It wasn't long before we were reaching the end of the harbour

Our spa time was nearing so we got ready and headed down. We had a back, neck and shoulder massage, with foot massage and it was heavenly, just what was needed. Defo want to do the spa villa on a sea day for our next cruise, as I can imagine that being pure heaven and very relaxing to sit there in the hot tub, champagne in hand watching the waves roll by

After the spa we went back to our cabin and got ready for dinner, tonight we were going to try Palo and we were both very excited as we had heard nothing but praise for this restaurant, esp the chocolate souffle.

I love this light fitting, murano glass made to look like the different types of pasta

We ordered a cocktail to start, mine was Le Grand Bleu - Grey Goose Vodka, Grand Marnier, Blue Curacao Liqueur, Freshly Squeezed Lime Juice, Taittinger Champagne

Dave's was Pomegranate Passion - Pomegranate Passion Liqueur, Passion Fruit Sorbet, Taittinger Champagne

Mine was quite bitter and I wasn't keen, so Dave (gentleman that he is) kindly swapped with me. His one was delicious, I only put off ordering it because it had pomegranate in, but the passion fruit overpowers it and makes for a sweet yummy cocktail, esp with the champagne.

Starters was a mixture of anti pasti which our server made up for us

We also ordered scallops (can't find the descrip) and Dave had a small plate of a mixture of different starters on the menu to try. One of them being a Portobello mushroom which he absolutely loved.

Our main was a no brainer, had to be the beef tenderloin, although looking at the picture it looks like a fillet mignon. This was delish and very tender.

We also ordered the braised beef ravioli, which was delish but after all that food we couldn't finish it. I love cruising, so much yummy food to eat

Halfway through the meal we had already ordered our chocolate souffles and before we could admire and take in the aroma our server got to bashing away to fill with cream

OMG this dessert is amazing and if we were so full we would have ordered another Dessert done with our server came back with a lovely memento for the evening

and this...

A limoncello and prosecco aparatif which tasted divine! So having a few more of those next year

Dinner over and bellies full we made our way back to our cabin, stopping along the way to take in the evening sights. The movie on the big screen was Beauty and the Beast and we stayed a little longer to watch some of it before hitting the hay.

Am gonna leave it there for now, next up Day 2 on Nassau

Thanks Life can be so hectic, I've found that our social life out here has also increased and we literally don't have a moment to ourselves at times.

Hope you are well

Congrats on everything!

Can't wait to hear more about the boat. I've been on a few cruises and not in a hurry for another one, but Joyce hasn't, so maybe a Dis-cruise would be the way to go :-)
