Snow White doesn't know who Emma is, at least not yet. I think Henry is aging because he wasn't sucked into the vortex, he was born outside it. I think the Queen can leave the town because she joined of her own free will to "lead" the town rather than being "in the curse".

I don't think Granma knows who Emma is, only Rumple and I think the Queen knows too. Remember, she first offered the apple cider, lol.

been waiting for this show, here are my thoughts.
Like the concept, but wish it were a bit less choppy...I know, writers of Lost and all that, but the jumping of scenes , short dialogue at times...too much that direction. However, they only have an hour so I guess I get it.
My guess on the Queen having Henry is based on Snow White saying "You will lose".....since the Queen needs leverage she has it with him. I'm guessing Emma will have to decide between getting/keeping Henry or giving the characters their world back. Who knows. I think the special effects are off kilter for tv, almost like they are trying to do a bunch of quick large scale CG stuff, that is not translating well to the small screen, but I shouldn't judge after only 1 show. I like it overall simply for the Fairy Tales themselves, love seeing another spin on them.

Exactly how I feel. I enjoyed the show, but I have NO faith in Lost writers, so I have no intention of getting too involved in it.

I sure hope this is not like Lost. I couldn't follow that show at all. Thank goodness for this thread. I didn't even pick up on the Grandma & Red Riding Hood until I read here.

I'm serious when I say I have to watch the premiere all over again. Who knows what else I've missed, lol.

My daughter and I, who just loved Lost, really enjoyed Once Upon a Time. We did notice a few Lost similarities and were really excited. The curse=smoke monster, the opening eye scene with Emma in jail/Jack, sooooo much fun. Cant wait until next week

Another question.... if Snow White knows who Henry is, she must know who Emma is. And if so, why the heck hasn't she contacted her all these years? Do the characters not "know" who they are?

I love some of the small, cute details, like the apples on the table at the Queens and Rumples name in the village "Mr. Gold"...haha....

I don't think Snow White knows who Henry really is. I think only Henry has figured out who the village residents are (of course the Queen knows too -- I'm not sure about Rumpelstiltskin). Everyone else is enchanted. Did you see how Snow White never even glanced at Prince Charming in the Hospital in a coma.

ARGH!! Another detail I missed! Seriously rewatching this episode as soon as it's online!

If Snow doesn't know who Henry is, why did she give him the book? That's what made me think she knows exactly who he is. Which would mean she knows who Emma is...
