That power strip is great for sharing outlets on the train.

Yes it is, but remember to change your plug adapter as the train goes under the Channel......England style to French.

Using my power strip at the Dolphin, this should give you an idea of the size.

Here is a picture of the dual voltage power strip and adapters we used on our trip in September.
We didn't have any need for a converter.

I purchased everything from Amazon.com ( except the small black adapter).

What's really great about the power strip is that it's very compact. Perfect for traveling.

A note about the Italy bathrooms... most of them have a round recessed grounded outlet near the vanity. If you only have the square adapters, you might have trouble fitting it into the round recess. Someone on another travel site clued me into that one.

Also of note: the hair dryers in the hotels are less than adequate - IMHO. Also, in Artimino the hair dryer is just like the ones on the Disney cruise ships. Here is a picture of the dual voltage hair dryer I bought and also the dual voltage curling iron. Both fold and weigh less than 9-10 ounces each.

While we're on the subject of bathrooms... Before our trip I went to the Dollar store and bought 6 very cheap (3 for $1.00) washclothes. The hotels in Rome and Venice supplied washclothes, but in Artimino they did not. We used them and just threw them away each day.

Thanks Marilee, I saw that power strip (or something similar on Amazon) and got worried that the cord would be too short. Did you have any issues with it along these lines?

I think I just came down with post traumatic stress......

I had a dream that I was being chased by train power outlets.....and random iMac keys.

Here's the universal power strip I bought for last year's London & Paris trip. It's sort of in between Mike's behemoth and Marilee's tiny one.

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...00_i02_details

It was relatively small, compact and lightweight, but it served all my needs. Then I had a British and French adapter for the plug.

Jack, Since most of the electronics we were using had dual voltage, the short cord wasn't a big issue.

For the most part it acted as a charging station for our camera batteries and iPhones. The cord was easily long enough to reach an outlet and then sit on top of the nightstand next to the bed.

Just a reminder...

It's a great place to ask questions, share info, plot and plan.....you get the idea.

I think I sent out an email stating it would begin last week......but I completely forgot.

If any of you showed up and I wasn't there....I apologize.
