Is it true?

That I can't have a bag of any type on any ride at Universal? What about an over the shoulder purse? Camera Bag? Someone told me there were NO bags at all on rides and I have a hard time believing that they would make everyone use a locker. Any ideas???

No...it's only a handful of rides that carry on bags are not allowed. You can usually get by with a fanny pack as long as it doesn't get in the way of the restraints but nothing over the shoulder...again just on those attractions.

The rides that do not allow carry on bags are:

IOA: Forbidden Journey, Hulk and Dragon Challenge.

The Studios: Hollywood Rip, Ride, Rockit, MIB and Revenge of the Mummy.

I would love to know where these ideas come from.

As Metro stated, there are only six rides (three per park) that have a strict No Loose Articles policy. Everything else, loose articles are permitted as long as they don't interfere with the restraint.

you can always wear cargo pants and use the pockets to secure items.
many do that for the restricted rides of no bags.

This is my attire for all parks for that reason. I think lipgloss is the bulkiest thing in my pockets.

In the safety video, it shows the recommended procedure: put loose articles along the side wall. You can bring them in the ride if you want.

They are free for the estimated time it will take you to ride the ride plus a bit of leeway.

But for some rides, like Forbidden Journey, The lines for the free lockers can actually be almost as long as the line for the ride itself.
