We have not yet booked the planning session but we did do the site visit just last Thursday (the 29th). From what I have been told by our coordinator we can't book a site visit until 6 months away from our wedding date (but maybe we can hold a date??dunno, kinda confused). Did you say you had one scheduled (was it for March? I have read a lot of PJs, hehe, and it's hard to remember). I think I will send Joe a message right after this post

Do you know anything about how the planning session works? How do we pick out favors and table settings, name card holders, all that fun stuff?
Thanks Courtenay, will let my creative streak out sometime soon to mke the BM invitatioins.

How did your site visit go? As we are in the UK we haven't yet done ours, but will do in March. We were lucky enough to go into the Wedding Pavilion in May though I think Whitehall is perfect for us as we want to Watch Wishes on our wedding night which we can do from the patio there.

Yes we do have one scheduled, March 20th in the afternoon, with our tasting session at the GF in the morning...steak for breakfast?!

I asked my coordinator if she thought it would be likely that we would get our session the week we were over as I found the cheap flights and the next day she had sent me the forms and we were all booked in. SHe just told us at least 6 months befre the wedding so hopefully you can get a date schedules soon too, will you travel to Disney or do it over the phone? xxx

Whitehall is so beautiful! That was on our list too. The site visit went great, we got to view our venues and Joe spent so much time with us. We talked a lot of details and it was all very confusing lol. But of course it was fun too.

We will do the planning in person, I don't want to miss out on seeing things in person and eating all that food (serious foodie right here). I must try cake for my wedding, that's one of the best parts.

After we set up the room block and sign the contract I think we can go ahead and block our planning session (Joe sent me paperwork on it yesterday). I'll let you know how it works out.

Hi there! We had our planning session last week while we were down for a vacation we had planned before we got engaged!! We were about 7 months and they let us do our PS since we were there! It was an awesome experience, but we couldn't get pricing on some things because we were more than 6 months out (like our cake). We are having our ceremony on the beach at the beach club, cocktail hr at SBP and our reception in the BW ballrooms. We love that whole area!

Your ring is so pretty, your FH did good!

Just started following along!!! Congratulations on your engagement I can't wait to read more. We are getting married at the Wedding Pavilion on December 2, 2011 with the reception at the Atlantic Dance Hall. If you have any questions let me know as it looks like you are planning on doing the same thing!

Good luck with all the planning. You will find a lot of useful information on here. I wish I found this site sooner, it is amazing the stuff you can learn on here, that planners don't share. Do your research

Fnu fun fun! New stuff.

Hello ladies and gents! I am back. It has been sooooo crazy around here I can hardly tell you. So, we had our engagement party on October 15th (364 days before our wedding) and I found my dress the following day! It was a whirlwind weekend. Lots of fun but let me tell you, lots of emotion and lots of craziness.

The party went great, mom and I made decorations and set up with dad, Brian, and three of my beautiful bridesmaids. What a great group. I just adore them. Everything went well with the exception of an old (male) friend getting absolutely wasted and confessing his love for me. This did not please Brian, nor did it make me too happy b/c, well, you just don't do that kind of thing at an engagement party. But it all worked and Brian didn't have to beat anyone up, he's a bigger man than that. And so, the rest of the weekend went well. The next afternoon myself, three of my bridesmaids, my mom, my future mom-in-law, and my dad all went to watch me try on dresses. I had picked out numerous Casablanca dresses beforehand and they only had one in stock so I put that in the dressing room to try on. I don't remember which number it was but probably around the 7th, or so, and I knew it was "the one". It is true, once you find it you just know. EVERYONE cried when I walked out, and it was hilarious! It was emotional and fun and heartwarming. Trying that dress on made me even more excited. I cannot wait for my love to see me in the dress.

We signed our agreement on October 21st, one day before my birthday (what a great birthday present) and we have an engagement photo session set for November 19th, not much planning going on other than that as of now. I'll keep ya'll posted.

This is the board me, Brian, and my mom made before the party. It has friends and family and events through the years on it:

Here's a picture of me and my mom; we are making engagement party decorations. They came out so cute!

Aww, thank you. It was amazing finding it and seeing everyone get so excited. It does make things feel more real; for me it was like "wow I am really getting married, this is crazy/amazing/so cool!"

Thanks for letting me steal your ideas What I have trouble with is actually sitting down to do anything. I just can't get everything together and get it done. I have yet to send "thank you's" for our engagement party. I am a bad bride. Do you have any tutorials or advice on how to create the images for invites and print them? Basically the whole process?

Very pretty dress I like the skirt bit very much.

Can't believe someone told you they loved you at your engagement party, that's one to tell the gran-kids!

Thanks hun! I really love the dress, it was everything I hoped for.

As for the confession...that I could have done without. And it was more along the lines of a really drunk person slirring and acting horrible and insulting the groom and saying that I am marrying the wrong person and bla bla bla. Don't think we will be seeing him at the wedding.

Weddings bring out the best in people don't they?
