Hi Nicky buying DVC will be the best decision you ever make!! We love our DVC. I'm no expert but I will do my best to answer your questions.
1. Buying 100 points and going every other year will give you 200 points for your vacation. September is a value month for DVC so the points are at their lowest. 200 points will get you a studio anywhere on property for 2 weeks. As to what use year I am not certain, ours is August and this works fine for us to travel at any time of year or so it seems to me. We've been in October, february and planning for December in the future. 2. We prefer to fly with virgin but there are lots of places that sell flights, google around and you'll find loads. If you prefer the security of booking through a tour operator you can always book a flydrive package. 3. If you have to cancel your points go into holding and have to be used in that Use Year, you will not be able to bank them. At the worst you could always try and rent out your reservation and use the money to put towards rebooking your vacation. You can get approx $10 per point rental so that would give you the best part of $2000 for your next vacation. We've always bought direct from Disney both for our original purchase and for add-on we just find it quicker and more convenient but you can get some really good deals on the resale market. Be aware though that resale points can only be used for DVC resorts you can not use them to book cruises or adventures by disney. If you have a trip coming up soon buying in Disney is great and the Disney finance is really convenient too. Hope I've helped a little :

No problem
Happy to help! The room is yours you've booked it for those days so you would just have to contact member services and explain that you would be checking in at a later date. If you didnt let them know and failed to show up though I think you would lose it and your points. As you would be calling last minute I would imagine that you would lose the points for the night that you miss. |

The thing that you need to remember is that once you experience DVC you will want to try other resorts and then you will want to add on. If you can afford I would highly recommend buying as many points that you can afford. I f you dont use all of your points you can bank until the following year or you could rent them out. When we fisrt bough we started out in studios them moved onto 1 bed rooms now looking at 2 bedrooms so look at the future on how you will use your points and just the now. Hope this helps.

Remember that reservations cancelled between 1-31 date from your arrival day, the points are forfeited and gone for good.

i think points go into holding and have to be used in that Use Year , you only lose them if you cancelled on the day !! ( i think that's right but )

In general it's a good idea to get a use year which starts just before your typical travel month, so in your case July or August ought to suit you quite well.
