Sorry - must have had a senior moment! When was the one in May? We were on the 1st one but I can't remember when it was.

Such anticipation!

We can't decide whether we'll want a 7 day on the Fantasy or hoping for longer cruises out of NYC to Canada. After this last cruise in August on the Dream we decided we much prefer cruises that are longer than 5 days. Would love to do the med. but airfare for 4 of us is a bit steep.

Must be getting closer to the big announcement- this thread is holding the top stop lately Here's hoping for ANY cruise that is a good enough deal to convince DH we should go again less than a year after our 1st!!!

I just rebooked on the Dream this past weekend and was told by the future cruise desk agent that 2013 should be coming out in "a few weeks".

I don't know if that can be of any help, but we were on the September 24th sailing and I heard a few castmembers talking with some guests about where the Magic was heading after next year and all of them said it would go back in Europe, with the Wonder staying on the west coast and the Dream and the Fantasy staying in Port Canaveral for the Bahamas and the Caribbean.

I don't know if that's true or not...

^ I would guess that they'll keep the new ships at the Bahamas and Caribbean for at least a few years before moving them elsewhere, but I could be wrong.

General question about booking...

If you book one adult per room, can you add people in later?

Usually but not always, even if your cabin is known to sleep 4, the muster staion may fill up and no more can be added. It's a maritime law DCL won't break. Also children's programming can fill up for certain ages. Last March I surprised dh with a 3nt cruise, just the 2 of us. About 1 month before the cruise, I started feeling guilty and tried to add them on. I could book ds14 but not ds11, then 10. I tried to add a 2nd cabin but still it wouldn't let me put ds10 anywhere on the ship. I gave up trying and we had a nice time but I never told him about trying to add the kids.

Anyone remember how much a 7 night western Caribbean trip during the summer (when school's out) was for 2 ppl when the itinerary was first released to the general public for 2011 or 2012? Right now a ocean view porthole room (or maybe it was a veranda ocean view...can't remember right now) runs $4-5K for 2.

Thanks! I guess we should wait until we can book all of us together, even if it means paying a little extra. Just in case.

Well, waiting won't help either. If a muster station is going to fill up, it will fill whether your cabin is half booked or not at all. Whether you add kids later or wait to book all 4 of you later your choices will be the same.

My SIL is in this predicament too. I suggested that she book the adults now (for Nov 2012) since they're the more expensive, just to insure good cabin selection and early dining. When I say add the kids later, I mean in a few weeks, not months. Really, it depends on the cruise. I would think Christmas, Easter or a special sailing like Hawaii, don't wait at all for any of you. The Nov 2012 cruise I'm referring to with my SIL is off peak time in Nov. Those dates have been out for almost a year and there's still plenty of availability but the price is slowly rising. Soon, it will be way out of her range.

Me too!! I hope she does come back-we did a cruise out of Bayonne this summer and it was, BY FAR, the easiest and best thing ever- no flying, no weighing luggage, left our house and we were to the port in 1/2 an hour. AMAZING!!!!! The vacation began IMMEDIATELY, and the day we got off, we were pulling into our driveway in a 1/2 an hour. Even if they don't do NYC in 2013, I am hopeful they will return in 2014....
