D23 Expo: The Avengers

I just thought I would ask, since Disney owns Marvel, who is extremely excited about The Avengers movie coming out next year? I been reading articles about the footage shown at D23 this year and it is getting RAVE reviews . Needless to say I extremely excited about this movie , I actually think I’m more excited about this movie then going to WDW

I'm a comic book geek and a huge Joss Whedon fan, so I'm really looking forward to what should be a match made in heaven. But, I'm also taking all the early buzz with a grain of salt.

I'm still a little concerned that The Avengers flick will fall into the trap of trying to pack in too much into a single movie. The previews are clearly showing that Loki will be the big-bad, but set-pics are also hinting that a certain alien race (I won't give spoilers) may play a big part as well, although not confirmed. Think about the mess that Spiderman 3 became.

I remember seeing crowds go crazy during the previews of Watchmen and Sucker Punch, but the final films ended up being style over substance ... pretty to watch but a trainwreck of storytelling.

Obviously The Avengers is planned to be a great popcorn flick, but I hope they don't loose the story which has made the recent Marvel flicks so enjoyable.

Very, Very, Very good point, I also agree, although I am excited, I too am taking the hype with a grain of salt. The Avengers needs to a be a action packed movie with a good story line, it also needs to highlight each characters ability, I agree as well they do not need to pack it all into this movie, I just hope it lives up to all the hype

yes, it is very time consuming. it can take all day to get set for one big action scene that is done in a matter of minutes.

I can't wait for this, Avengers was one of the first books I bought to collect in 83. Before them they went into a bag for trips but after reading them I got real excited.

I hated the previews of Watchman, but mostly because we didn't think it would be that great and would "ruin" the comic.

However, I am looking forward to the Avengers and really hope they don't mess it up.
