At least you can't deny that we warned you! Hmm, never tried to hide in the closet before. . .it could work. . . Welcome home and glad you had a nice stay.

Two places you should look for recommendations on where to request:

1st being our lovely Poly FAQ here on the Resort forums, from the wonderful Guitarob. Home of the Poly Freaks. Full of wonderful pics and helpful folks.

2nd, you should head over to the Tikiman Pages. There you will find a description of each longhouse and their own pros and cons. This really helped me decide where to request (Tokelau, as well) -- but it seems everyone has a favorite. Honestly though, you can't go wrong with the Poly.

Have fun.

I asked for people's opinions on their fave longhouses and why on this site (and especially on the Poly thread) and I emailed TikiMan on his site and told him our preferences and based on those, which longhouse he recommended. I also viewed the aerial map that shows all the longhouses and their proximity to eachother and the amenities.

I asked the cm who was issuing our wrist bands if they typically get a lot of pool hoppers (knowing that they do from the DisBoards) and he said they absolutely do - during the 4th of July this year, he said they ejected 320 people from the pool throughout the day . Obviously, it's not usually THAT many, but with it being the 4th, non-resort people were spending the day waiting to watch fw from the beach and trying to use the pool.

Glad to hear you liked it! My husband and I stayed there for the 1st time last year and loved it so much we are staying there again this year! We couldn't figure out what some people were complaining about it.
Visited WDW once a year(sometimes twice a year)between 1987 and 2000, stayed at FW Campground most of those times, FW Cabins one time, ASMu one time, and an offsite hotel a few other times.Since 2003 my DH and I have taken 8 trips to WDW and 1 DCL together. We stayed at an offsite hotel in 2003 and 2005, ASMo in 2008,CBR in 2009,Poly in 2010,2011,2012,2013. Bahamian Disney Cruise in 2013. YC stay and Western Caribbean Cruise in 2014. BC stay and Eastern Caribbean Cruise in 2015!!

Have never been able to decide between poly and animal kingdom
both are the best but the differences between are location
and being part of an attraction in place of being outside the attraction

It's kind of fun to do the impossible.

Thanks for posting! I am also a poly addict I am so glad to hear they are checking room cards for the pool and wow, that's a LOT of people to eject! Imagine if they had all stayed and how crowded it would have been for the people that paid to stay at the resort.

Well, I love Poly so much that even though we did a Disney trip in May (to Wilderness Lodge), DH agreed to go again this fall because we want to stay at the Poly!!

Glad you loved it

I must admit that the WL is still my favorite but the Poly is a very, very, very, close second. Maybe if I wasn't such an outdoor lover (camping, hiking, canoeing) the Poly would be my favorite.
