Make your own Mickey Ears

Hi
Not sure where to post this, so mods feel free to move. I saw in another post that you can design your own Mickey Ears. They looked adorable! Anyone know where you do this? Is it possible to get a gift certificate for this? I would love to get something like this for my niece to do on her 1st Disney trip in Sept.
Thanks,

Murphy

You can make them at the Hat Shop on Main Street.

I'd just get her a Disney gift card for $30 or so, and tell her it's for the ears. If you're crafty, you could make a mickey-hat shaped gift card holder for it (or ask someone on the CreativeDISigns board to make one!)

My DD got the make your own kind 2 or 3 years ago and she LOVES them. She constantly gets attention from other guests and CM's about those darn ears! Hers are blue/lime green hat with pink furry ears. Last Sept, one of the ears kept coming off...they're held on with snaps...and they replaced both of her ears for free!! I tried to insist on paying, since they were so old, but the CM wouldn't let me!

Anyway, you can get them at Le ( LA?? not sure ) Chapeau on Main St in Magic Kingdom and there's also a place in DTD, if I'm not mistaken. Not sure of the name.

You could just get your niece a WDW gift card and she could buy them with that.

There is a place in DTD as well. I just read up on it the other day. You pick your beanie, ears (can be 2 different ones) patches, name on the back. Each thing has it's own price. From what I could see $25 to $30 should cover them.

Oh my god, you've got to be kidding.

This is ALL my fiance has been talking about for the last 6 months. It was the only thing he wanted as a wedding gift.

Pretty sure I'm going to be in big trouble with him when he finds out

Thanks for all the replies. What a shame they are no longer available. They looked so awesome and unique!

If you did, they just moved it back in the past 4 weeks. We went in there on July 11 and they said they no longer did it...looked around and didn't see them, too.

Oh, I hope you can still make them there. Maybe they just stopped it at Le Chapeau on Main Street. I'll get her a gift certificate, I know it won't go to waste!

I work in that building & they are NOT available,we still have hats but they are not the ones that you can build, you can only have a name stitched on the hat. They were discontinued from DTD & Magic Kingdom.

Thanks Tinkerbell, sorry to hear they are no longer available. Any idea why it was stopped or if it may resume? Such a unique idea!

I did give it some thought and I realized that I had just seen the regular ears. I only glanced inside the store and I do admit I was mistaken. Thanks for clearing it up!

They just weren't popular anymore, they've pulled everything tied to them. No plans on bringing them back unfortunately.

We were at MK on July 3rd and my daughter went to go make her ears like she had planned to do. They only had a few really ugly hats left and we figured they just needed to restock so we decided to try it on our next visit to MK a few days later. When we went back all the ears you attached were gone and they told us the make your own ears was discontinued. Now we know that on the 3rd that probably was all they had left. It was a very disappointing moment for an 11 year old who had saved her own money to do it.
