How long does it take to get to Hilton Head?

We're going on a cruise next year on the Fantasy and my wife wants to try out Hilton Head as opposed to going to the parks after the cruise. My question to you - how long does it take (driving) from the airport (Orlando) to Hilton Head? We would be picking up the rental car at the airport, unless there are rental car places by the port.

I can't say how long from the airport, but HH is our half-way point between home and WDW. So, from WDW it takes about 4 hours. Hope that helps.

We've made that trip several times. It takes us 5 hours, and we usually only stop once.

Thanks for the info. I am already trying to plan out next year's vacation (the cruise has already been booked and paid for).

Yes, there are rental car agencies near the port. You do not need to travel back to MCO to rent a car.

5 hours for WDW to HH but if you will be driving through downtown Orlando during a high traffic time, consider taking the back way around instead (417 toll road near Sanford to the 528 to MCO). If driving from the Port it will be quicker (~4.5 hrs), basically straight up the 95.

This is just too funny! How on earth is it 30 miles different to SSR vs OKW when they are right next door to each other?

They must have read on these boards that the walk from the Carousel to the Springs pool is about 20 miles.

Similar to my response to Diane, they read on these boards that BWV hallways are about 5 miles long.

It just seems like a 7 mile difference when you're riding the bus!
