I think it would be great if they had Kerig brewers in each room, its so conveinent just pop in pod and no mess.I also have a question for recent guests returning from vacations .Do you still get to hear all the beautiful music as you stroll the grounds ?I love walking around and hearing that and smelling all the gorgeous flowers there

Just to add to what princssdisnygina said, cakes for the Poly come from the GF bakery (as confirmed by cake master Chef Brian from the CR - he makes FANASTIC cakes from the pictures I've seen!) You could not call the CR bakery yourself & have a cake delivered to the Poly. You could, however, order from them if you are dining at one of the CR restaurants and have it delivered to your meal.

That being said, I have also seen some beautiful work from the GF bakery too. If you check out this thread there is lots of info and pictures.
http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2413710

There is a cake gallery index on the first page and somewhere there is a link to a more accurate & current FAQ than those on the first page (eg. they say Poly guests can order from CR, which isn't true unless you're dining there, like I mentioned). I am planning on order a cake for DH for our upcoming anniversary trip, so I have been reading up!

Be forwarded, some of the custom cakes get really expensive!

I got mine at the Tambu Lounge! Yummo! I think it cost $13.25, but after traveling over 1000 miles to get one, it was worth every penny

Do you plan on dining at CR, because they can't deliver your cake to the Poly.

Not sure how much the cost is, but wanted to add a tip that we use....dh & I are BIG coffee drinkers so we always pack at least a lb of ground coffee from home. Each room at the poly has a coffee maker and they will supply you with the coffee filter, so you are all set to go. We make at least 3-4 pots a day this way & we enjoy our "real" coffee. With the amount of coffee we drink our bill at Kona cafe would be more than the bill for our trip

You can also buy whole bean coffee at Kona and I believe they can grind it for you as well. Maybe logpey can double check for us if she happens to pass by there.

Awesome! Chef Brian does the best cakes!

I'm torn between getting a cake delivered to the CL lounge on the Monday of our trip, which is DH's birthday or ordering one for the Wednesday, for our 10th anniversary, when we eat at California Grill. If I get the cake for Monday it has to come from GF and we were are eating at 'Ohana that night and I anticipate being stuffed (because I am not giving up my bananas foster, cake or no cake! ). However, the kids would be there for it and I know would LOVE daddy getting a fancy cake. On the other hand ... if I wait until Wednesday I get to have a Chef Brian cake, but the kids won't be at dinner with us. Big decision!!

And you would think that all the walking at WDW would help stave that off, but nope! (especially when you throw some Mickey bars & Dole whips into the mix!)

Sounds like maybe you should do the anniversary for the special cake -- just due to the high likelihood you'll be stuffed at 'Ohana? Can you get a tiny cake for his birthday so the kids can share in the enjoyment?

I looked at all of those cakes on the page you linked to. Oh my. Those Haunted Mansion and Mad Hatter cakes are so, so tempting.

Thanks for reminding me! I'm a Dole Whip Virgin. Gotta add that to the list of "things to do."
