If you don't plan to stay you should perhaps aim for the day that PIO and I plan for the picnic. I guess since Bobbi offered a watermelon and a knife she's not so into cooking, but I think that with a BBQ and my kitchen PIO and I can put a pretty nice spread. I think we want to do at least one afternoon evening where we just sort of enjoy some time outside (in the shade I hope! If not I may volunteer my living room!) and make up some easy homemade food and enjoy company over some beverages of each of our choosing.

It would be a nice way to meet up and put faces to names. Since one of the threads PIO and I hang out on is the "What's for Dinner" thread and I know I enjoy cooking while away from the stresses of daily life, hopefully PIO knows a one or two easy prep things that would make a nice picnic and we could just enjoy the BCV, some company and good food while avoiding the hubub of the parks. There was a gal who was going to bake us cake who had to cancel out due to finances, but I'm sure we could find some sweets (albeit not as good as Danas) to round out our feast!

I know that Denise was also looking at this time of year; maybe we could entice her and her cousin to stay a little longer too. Ed - maybe you could sweeten the deal a little (and twist her arm) as well.

So I'm up for cooking "whatever". On my next trip I plan on making a Prime Rib in the room. I know I talked about it for this trip too.....

What would you be up for doing? I know your family is much more commando, but with a big meat, some watermelon and just a couple more "pot luck style" things we have a feast! At least for one day. I know Wendy from the J & Ks thread will be there then too, she and her family might want to hang out. I'll ask her too.

I'm up for most things. If we are doing a BBQ, then if there is fish available, we could do some fish parcels on the BBQ.
If there is no fish available, then lets see what other protein there is. DS will always eat chicken (marinated in a soya/sugar mix).

For my pesky vegetarian, we could get some large mushrooms, remove the stalks, stuff them with feta cheese with a dollop of pesto on top and put them on the BBQ.


If we're cooking in your place, then we have a few more options. I could fry some noodles or rice, depending on what we find at the grocery stores; or make something Asian like a curry or something.
Otherwise, a risotto is pretty easy to make.

We can probably do a combination. We can order for the day before to get some seafood. If your DH wants. Who knows I might bring some frozen tri tip! I would love it if you made some kind of curry to gowith meat and s eafod grill.

Depending on the fish, I could make a sambal and use that to marinade the fish before putting it on the BBQ.

Hi Guys! Thanks for the PM Princess!!

I am planning to go at the end of Sept. I love looking at my ticker tape

I am working around my daughter's wedding Sept. 21st. I will be driving, from WA so it will take me 5 days to get there, to VA, I stay at my cousin's (it used to be my townhouse and a LOT of my stuff is there).

My problem is I do not want to be away from my house any longer than necessary. So, 5 days to get there, a few days before the wedding to help my daughter. Then the wedding, then I'm free to go.

Then when I leave DW, I will drive back to VA. Rest up for a day or two and then drive Home.

So - I want to go to DW as soon as possible after the wedding. Have you seen the numbers for that time period on touringplans.com? (Am I allowed to mention a website?)

Have you all booked your reservations? I am looking. I have confirmed that I can book anytime and then, when the specials are announced later on, I can call back and ask to have the special. So, I will be booking sometime in the next couple of weeks.

I was also toying with the idea of going to Disneyland sometime between Feb and May, since I have an annual pass! Alison do you know of a thread like this for people going this spring but, NOT at spring break

Fran and I are booked 9/29-10/9 with PIO joining us on the 2nd at BCV. We are at VWL for 3 nights before PIO joins us at WDW.

I don't hang out much on the DL boards, but I think there are monthly threads for who is going that month.

I have been looking at my dates and am probably going to be checking in on Wed. 9/25 and checking out on Wed. 10/2. So, I will probably miss PIO.

I'm not sure where I will be staying yet. Coronado? Never been there. PO Riverside, my favorite? Or one of the budget resorts to save money??
