Pre-Ordering: Worth it?
Is it worth pre-ordering anything before the cruise (picture packages, rainforest pack, All You Can Dream Package, etc.)?
Can you get any of them on the boat without the service fee? Are they cheaper/more expensive on the boats? Thanks. |

Rainforest--was $16 per day on the ship. In advance was $15 + $1 "service fee." Hmmm....that looks a lot like $16 to me. However, on our June cruise the rainforest had increased to $19 per day! YIKES.
In my experience, the things I was interested in are available on the ship at the same price as in advance. They MAY run out of stuff on the ship, so if you order in advance you know you'll have it. There are also sometimes "specials" on the ship so that you might be able to get a deal if you wait. In most cases, the prices are exactly the same. |

The photo packages, Rainforest pass, beverage packages are all the same price before and onboard in my experience. However, if there is a merchandise offering you see, most of those are not available onboard. We have preordered a few duffles and excursions packs prior, and glad we did, as for some reason the ship gift shops don't sell backpacks or duffles. I ordered DD the Winnie the Pooh pillow with necklace ahead of time, as it is not an item available once on the ship or even at WDW. For our upcoming Dream cruise, I have preordered the coloring pillow and ship nightlight...and of course a beer package to surprise my hubby.

I read on another thread that the $89 Photo Value Pkg was not available onboard, the cheapest one onboard was the $149 package. Did that change?
