2 stops at Castaway Cay

Our 5 day Dream cruise will have 2 stops at Castaway Cay. We love CC but usually just swim a little, play in the sand, snorkle a little and basically get cooked like lobsters. So that is the plan for the first of our 2 stops. What to do on the second visit? Get even more sunburned? Parasail? Rent a paddle boat? BTW, do they rent SeaDoos there?

We had a surprise 2nd day there on our 4/17 cruise. We did a snorkeling excursion the first day and then hung out on the beach. The second day we didn't feel the need to rush right off the boat. We hung out on the beach for a bit and then did an afternoon jet ski excursion that was probably the highlight of our cruise. The guides were great- they took us out onto a sandbar and showed us starfish the size of dinner plates and these HUGE conch shells. It was the perfect way to spend a hot afternoon- I highly recommend it!

We did the bike rentals last time and it was really nice. We plan on doing it again on our next cruise. You also get to see the cabanas, you ride right behind a couple.

I've seen pictures of other people's bike trips at CC and it looked like fun
Good to know about the cabanas
Maybe I can talk DH into one for our next cruise

The Seahorse Snorkel is a fun excursion.

OR.....you could just stay onboard and enjoy shorter lines for the Aqua Duck!

I thought we'd go parasailing on our second day on our Jun 7th trip. We got a message on our wave phone when we got up that it was cancelled due to sea conditions! It was very windy that day so I guess that was the problem. So, if you're planning on something out on the water and you have your heart set on it, try for the first day. Then if it's cancelled, you might be able to do it the second day, if they're not all filled up. You can always lounge on the beach the second day.

Great advice.

I was on the same cruise with you and scheduled parasailing the first day for this very reason. Sorry yours was cancelled.

Thanks! Glad you got to go. How was it? I've learned my lesson.

It was my first time and I loved it! As I had read here, it's very peaceful once you start going up.

My only disappointment was that it didn't last very long. The video I took start-to-finish says it lasted all of 4 minutes 20 seconds. I was on the first outing that day (9:00-10:00), and the second boat didn't appear until about 9:15. I got the impression they were speeding us up to help get them back on schedule. They also made us double-up (I was a single), which could have been due to winds as they said, or maybe not....

We did a B2B on the dream in April. The first cc day I did the 5K, we did the bikes (kids loved it and would have done it again) and the beach. 2nd day we did more of the ocean waterslides and the kids went to the kids club on the island while we went to serenity bay for a bit. We got back on the boat earlier that day as well and enjoyed looking down on the island while eating a late afternoon snack outside on deck. It was a mob scene out at the pool at that hour though, so if you wanted to do the aquaduck that day I would recommend doing it before you got off the boat (not sure what time it opened though).

You aren't required to leave the boat. DH and I didn't go into Nassau and stayed on the boat to tour it. DH took a tour on the art work of the boat (or something like that), I went and sat by the adult pool (it was practically empty). Why not consider exploring the boat?

OP ,thanks for bringing this up. This will be our first Double Dip. Last time we rented bikes then hung out on the beach the whole time. Which we loved, gotta bring sunscreen though. Maybe next time.. on the second day we could put the kiddies in the kids club then we could chill out on the adult beach, which we've never seen. Then we could pick them up after lunch and all hangout till we go back on the boat. Sounds like a plan!!! Hopefully the DD's will like it

You could always enjoy the empty ship and ride the aquaduck 100 times...

We did morning on CC the second day and the ship for lunch and the afternoon.

Is the aquaduck really that fun and really that crowded?

Anyone know how much it cost to rent one of the cabanas?
