Cool Adding an Extra Day

Hi - We are going to DW next week and someone told me something about purchasing an extra day on my ticket if I think we might stay an extra day....What is the minimum ticket length I can have to add that extra day. We are only going to be in town for 3 days and one day we are doing Sea World, but if it makes sense, we might add an extra day.

Thanks for any advice. I never knew you could add an extra day to the ticket, but just curious if the pricing is really worth it.

You can add a day whenever you want within 14 days of your first use of the ticket. This is most advantageous when you get into the higher amount of days since each day only costs $8 (used to be $5 a day).

If you already have a 3-day ticket, adding that 4th day will be fairly inexpensive. If you only have a 2-day ticket, it may not be worth it. Check the ticket site above.

No minimum ticket length required. You can't max out over 10 days, including upgraded tickets. For example, if you have a 7 day ticket, you would only be able to add up to 3 days to your ticket, even if you used days.

Also to note, you can add extra days anytime within 14 days of first use--even if you have used all other previous days. In other words, if you had a 2 day ticket and went 2 days, but then decided to go a third day, you could come back anytime during those 14 days (for example, a week later) and add the third day. If you have tickets that are still valid (no expiration option), but were first used more than 14 days ago, you cannot upgrade them.

If you do add extra days, always use one day first. If your ticket was purchased before a price increase (which you obviously did since you already have tickets--even if just ordered and not picked up) and/or from a discount ticket broker, your ticket will automatically have the value of current gate prices IF you use the ticket first. Otherwise, you will only get credit for what Disney sold the ticket for (less than what you may have purchased it for if from a discount ticket broker). Now, if you purchased at current gate value, it isn't necessary to use the ticket first, but it is a good habit to have so you never make a mistake.

The current cost of a 2 day ticket is $168 at the gate. The current cost of a 3 day ticket is $232 at the gate. Upgrading would cost $64. The $8 differences do not start until you are going from a 3 day ticket to a 4 day ticket. A one day ticket is $85.

ETA: This does not assume park hopping, or any other, option.

The max length of ticket you can have is 10 days total both used and unused.

So you can't get a 10 day use a day and then add another.

Quick question, can I add days more than once? We currently have 2 days tickets, I know for sure I want to upgrade them to 5 days after we use them once. However, we may or may not go to a park on the last day, so can I upgrade them a second time and add the 6th day?

Yes as many times as you want.

Of course you still have the 14 day limit and only up to 10 days.

Also adding no expire does not change the 14 day limit.

The difference between the gate price of the ticket and the ticket you want.

Its a sliding scale for each day. Here is the price list, you will see the first two days are the most expensive and then adding a day gets cheaper and cheaper until it gets to $8 a day (new price list).

The difference between a one day and a two day ticket--at current gate value.

With tax, a one-day PH ticket is $127.80 and a two-day PH ticket is $237.50. What you would pay to upgrade is $109.70

Shouldn't it be $83 + tax? I don't have time to check your math.

Can you do this for just a few people in your party? For example, I'm going with a party of four. We have a scheduled "break" day halfway through. But two of us would rather go into a park that day. Can we add a day for only those two? The four tickets were purchased together. I hope this makes sense!
