Question Suggestions on where to stay

I am planning to go to WDW is September 2012. I will have a 2yo and almost 5yo by then. My eldest son was born on 9/28 and my youngest son was born on 9/1.

What would be a good place to stay with 2 busy boys? My eldest is on the Autism spectrum. My eldest loves Mickey Mouse Clubhouse and Jake and the Neverland Pirates.

We have been there before and stayed at Poly and AKL.

Caribbean Beach would be fun, you could stay in a pirate room. The pool is really cool, too.

If you can swing it, Contemporary would be nice because you'd have the monorail and would also be right by Chef Mickey's.

I agree with Belle83 if you're staying in a mod. If you want a deluxe, consider AKL. My friends and her 9 yo son who is on the spectrum came with me in April. He LOVED seeing the animals while standing on the balcony. There is also a huge deck outside for viewing. The CMs on the deck are happy to give info on all of the animals.
It was fun but not overwhelming.
Natalie, my friend and her son went to Chef Mickeys and she thought the CR would overstimulate him because of all the noise.

My husband is thinking of renting points and getting into a DVC place. I am planning on going in September for my kids birthdays and free dining. Would this work with renting DVC points?

I do NOT think it will work because I believe you have to buy a package deal to get free dining. I think....

I just had to say HI because we are going September 2012, too, and my son's birthday is ALSO 9/28. Good luck choosing a resort. It's been making my head spin trying to decide!

I'd second trying CBR. The resort is very laid back and even when it's fully booked, you won't feel crowded. If you don't want to try the main pool, there's a quiet pool in each village. There's also a bus stop, laundry and beach in each of the villages. If you want to be close to Old Port Royale (food court, main pool, marina, etc.), you can pay a little extra and get a preferred room.
