I contacted the seller yesterday and she called and talked with the post master who was going to open an inquiry. She will let me know when she knows.

I am entering cookies, a counted cross stitch piece, a depression glass pitcher and an antique cradle. I am still waiting for my antique clock to be finished at the clock shop, so I didn't enter that. I kept it simple for my first time.

We spent a couple hours working on the fair booth last night. We have a ways to go on getting that ready. The float just needs to be put together now. Keep you fingers crossed that it doesn't rain for the parade on Sunday!

Sandy: I am entering my cut out cookies. Everyone loves them.

Kaleigh has been on the fence about 4-H to this point. We had several conversations about her needing to get her project book done and so on. She didn't seem all that interested and frankly it was getting to be a pain for me. But, I told her she had to complete the whole first year and if she didn't want to do it next year it was her decision. Last night during the meeting, she gets up and comes over to me and says "mommy, can we do this again next year?" And we haven't even gotten to the fun part yet...FAIR!

There is a 70% chance of rain on Sunday. I hope it doesn't affect the parade.

We had a great time at the pool party on Saturday. The weather cooperated there. We finished the float as much as we could except for last minute stuff.

The weather for the parade yesterday was awful!!! Luckily, one of the mom's thought to bring clear contact paper to cover the posters in. At least it was only sprinkling at that point. We were able to cover all but 2of the posters and none of the kids names that they made and decorated. I was wondering how we were going to keep the posters from getting completely wreaked. It started pouring rain while we were waiting for the parade to begin and it didn't let up at all until last night sometime. They found tarp to put on top of the float to keep the kids somewhat dry but one of the dads on the float had to keep dumping water off of the top! We all walked except for the younger kids. We even had 2 dogs in the parade with us. It was only 66 too. I couldn't believe there were actually people watching the parade. NOt the crowds of the past and probably family of people in the parade. But, we won the Mayor's Trophy!

We started school today. We are going out to dinner to celebrate. It is our first-day-of-school tradition.

Denine, I read about the parade and was feeling sorry for you guys and then I got to the end sentence....you won the Mayor's Trophy. You got a giggle and goosebumps over that. Congratulations. The parade in the rain might have been somewhat a disaster but you will remember it always.

Once again, my weight is at a dead stop. I lost 1/2 lb over 4 days. Big deal! I am going to go on one of their special two day diets to try and get over this horrible plateau and jumpstart me once again. I'm making Ted do it this time. He seems to have stalled as well.

We took Turner to Raleigh to move in with his host family yesterday. Lots of tears when we had to leave. This is much harder than I thought it would be. Hopefully he will get to come home Sunday morning til mid day Monday. It's so quiet around the house.

Denine - Sorry the parade was rained out, that is a bummer but at least you won the mayor's trophy for your dedication!

Thanks for all the hugs!!! I am still bumming about Turner being gone but we got to see him yesterday to register him for school. He is supposed to call me later tonight.
