Can I make it???

I booked a character breakfast @ Beach Club on the morning of embarkation at 8:55 am. Will I be able to make it back to Boardwalk Villa for DCL bus pick up? Thank you!

If it's as slow as the bus service DH and I had in February, you'll have plenty of time. Our bus did not depart until after 1:00 pm, made two stops at other resorts, and didn't arrive at the port until 2:30pm. We made it to Cabanas at 2:40, after they'd already closed one side, and were beginning to close the other. (I know that doesn't happen often.)

Enjoy your character breakfast.

You would have to check with your hotel front desk at resort check in to see what time your DCL bus is scheduled. Usually if you tell the front desk you are taking DCL transportation to the port they will hand you a letter telling you what time to meet the bus. Some buses pick up starting at 10:30 am.

You would have to consider time to get from Beach Club to your resort after breakfast. Are you walking? Taking the boat?

Of course this is a personal decision but another thing to consider is do you want to fill up on breakfast when you are already paying for a great lunch once you board. I try not to eat a lot on the morning of embarkation as I know I will want to eat what I paid for on the cruise. YMMV.

Probably, but a lot of factors will need to work in your favor. DCL transfers may pick up as early as 10:45am, though it could be as late as 12:30/1:00pm. Can you try for an earlier ADR?

I don't know if our experience with the Cape May character breakfast is common, but if so that leaves more question. We did not get seated until a full 45 minutes past our ADR time, and it took well over an hour (I think 1 hr 20 min) before the last character got around to our table. We were ready to leave well before then. It was not a good morning for us time-wise. Also, make sure you allow enough time to get back to the Boardwalk -- we've often waited 20 minutes for the Friendship boats so walking may be faster for you.

Enjoy your cruise!

sounds like I am cutting really close. Probably not worth the hassle.

By the way, 31 cruises? WOW!

Why not just have them pick you up from the beach club? I would keep the reservation for now and see what pick up times are like when you get down there..

I believe they schedule the pick up based on where your room reservation is. Not where you might be that morning.

We stayed at Boardwalk in June and the pick up was around Noon. I think they wanted us there at 11:30. We did brunch at the Dolphin at 8:15 and had time to burn before pick up. We actually rented a bike and rode around the lagoon before we headed to the lobby for the bus.

You should have no problem. Enjoy the cruise and the breakfast.

Don't assume that because someone was picked up at a particular resort in the past at a certain time that it will have any bearing on when they pick you up at the same resort. You won't know until the night before when they give you a letter telling you when and where. The schedules are based on demand at the time, not past history. We always try to start breakfast no later than 8 am on a cruise pickup day and usually in the same resort. While the BC isn't more than a 10-15 minute walk from the BI, character breakfasts can take longer than non-character ones and you may be seated late as some families linger as long as possible.

We've been picked up as early as 10:30 and as late as 12:30 at various different resorts.
