That's a terrible story. I am shocked. Who is going to give their kids alcohol. WOW. I would be major-ly upset over that. Don't blame him a bit.

Amazing Flower and Garden pics! I love that they put strawberry scent around Lotso!
I think it would be great to have some booze, because God Knows I love it, but I also think preserving Walt's vision is important too. So I'm torn. Really, I am.

I wished I had taken a bigger whiff of Lotso.

Good point. Yes - children ONLY exist in the MK. Everywhere else on property they don't count, so drink away. Walt never said anything about all those other places. He was long gone.

I agree - very strange thing to happen.

Not a sherpa??? TOTALLY sherpa!!! MEGA Sherpa!! MEK- what the heck do you bring to Disney???

Ok...back to reading....
Absolutely a sherpa. No question about it! And proud of it! So hey - my suitcase is what it is, but that green thing is my collapsible cooler. I use that to bring coffee, snacks, water, and most importantly - alcohol. Bags fly free on Southwest, so why not? And that rum did come in handy.

I think the only thing I downsized was my backpack. But - hey - its something! Right?????

No, they said that he might give him a drink. It didn't make sense. If we had our own in the camper we could have given it to him anyway. It was just palin stupid, my DH was in his 40's at the time.

I still think this is very bizarre. Do they still have this rule????? It's crazy. It's unconstitutional!

Blue Zoo

Does anyone need a little reorienting?

It's Sunday May 1st.
All the ladies have been together for over 24 hours.
5 of us have checked into the Beach Club and Jen is at POR
It's Day 2 for most of us (Day 3 for me and Day 4 for Melissa)
We have just spent some time relaxing at the pool and now its time to get ready for dinner.
This is our second group dinner!

We also had several one liners emerge that were in the running for TR title.

1. Is that Salt on your B@@b?
2. You Know what's really fun when you're a Dork like me?
3. If they can change all the classics, why can't I get a GD drink in the MK?

I forgot to mention one more "one liner" that spilled forth from someone's mouth during a pool time. It went like this..... Cynthia had a cute little bikini on and she said something to the effect that she sometimes feels uncomfortable wearing it because she was over a certain age. I don't know what her exact words were, so don't quote me, but after my rum and coke that's what I heard.

Well, I know the rest of us thought - hey - if I looked like you, Miss cynthia, I would wear a bikini. No problem. But one of us blurted out, "Heck - If I looked like you I'd walk around naked". Well, we all laughed so hard that it ended up in contention for our TR title and made #4 on the list. I think we embarrassed Cynthia, just a little, but that's the trade off being able to walk around in a bikini.

So, on to BlueZoo.

Our original plan was to meet in the lobby and then head over to dinner as a group, but Cynthia and I were stragglers, so we told everyone to head on over without us.

It really was a short walk from our villa to the Dolphin. This was actually my first time inside the Dolphin. I have passed it many times, but never stepped foot in it. Cynthia and I decided to try a side entrance, secretly praying that it wouldn't turn us around so much that we'd be even later for dinner.

WOOT! We sure picked Door #1 all right. We literally turned left and walked right into the back entrance of BlueZoo. The ladies were all sitting at the bar enjoying an adult beverage. Before Cynthia and I had time to select an adult beverage, we were escorted to our table. Even though it had to be 7 or 7:30 pm, the restaurant was pretty empty. Never fear though - it filled up pretty quickly after our arrival.

My pictures from this evening are really not all that, but here goes.

Cool decoration:

Cool mosiacs

Service was efficient and competent. But there is no way I am going to remember everyone's meals and I was not able to get everyone's food pics. It was dark in there and I couldn't get a decent pic without the flash, so I gave up.

Ahhh....Here's to another wonderful meal!

Oh wait - my cocktail was this, called Serenity Now (or something close)

I know Jen had the something berry drink. It looked pretty darn good and I think it was served semi - frozen and then melted. Talk about melt in your mouth good.

Everyone's cocktails were delish. Once consumed, we decided to order wine for the table. Fortunately, among all her other talents, Cynthia is quite the wine connoisseur. Unbeknownst to me, Cynthia used to work promoting or selling wines. She put her good training to work and ordered us a bottle of something delish. Don't ask me what. My knowledge is limited to white and red, Chardonnay and Reisling. This was neither. It was superb. Traveling with Cynthia was wonderful - you will never go thirsty or order a bad glass of wine. Just won't happen.

So....on to the food.

Cynthia and I both had the beet salad as our app.

It was interesting. Mostly salad, light on the beets. The few that were there were lined up along the side. Much like a little kid, Cynthia decided to save the best part (the beets) for last. She had eaten virtually everything green when the waiter came over and tried to take her plate, asking if she was done. Really? Well - No - the beets are still present and accounted for. We got a chuckle out of that.

I took the wiser approach and alternated the salad with my beets. They were very tasty. I love beets. I could have eaten many, many more, but I took what I got and deemed the dish - delish!

I think Jen ordered a flat bread:

"Olive's" Classico Flatbread - roasted tomato sauce, fresh mozzarella, torn basil $11

Someone's quite tasty looking shrimp:

Low Country Jumbo Shrimp - white cheddar hominy, okra, smoked bacon butter $14

Not the best picture of someone's chowder:

bluezoo's New England Style Clam Chowder - light and brothy with salt cured bacon, house-made oyster crackers $8

Entrees:

I had the scallops and this truly was one of the best scallop dishes I have ever had. It was really quite filling and full of taste. The scallops had a nice consistency. It was served with petite ravioli.

Chef Pasta - featured pasta of the day using fresh seasonal ingredients. Market Price

I'm pretty sure this was Jen's

I couldn't find a description for it on Allears. Is this the filet???? For some reason I thought it was pork. But now as I reread this, I'm thinking filet. Whatever it is - it looks great!

I also got pictures of Cynthia's and Tracy's entrees, since they were close to me.

I'm taking a guess on this last one - Dirty South Swordfish - barbecue rubbed, house smoked tasso risotto, rock shrimp, littleneck clam $32

So ladies, please fill us in on your entrees because, once again, I have them all confused. That's what happens when the table drinks too much wine. I mean - when one particular person at the table drinks too much wine.

Before we knew it, it was time for dessert.

Someone selected this

Tracy decided to drink dessert:

Yours truly, the birthday girl, was graced with this little morsel of goodness:

Wow - I was so impressed that even the BlueZoo knew it was my birthday.

Check out all the little gold filaments on the top of my scrumptious dessert.

I tried to share. Really I did, but everyone kept turning me down. So I was forced to do something I despise - Yup - finish the whole thing.

Good to the last drop. Don't ask me what it was. Something light, fluffy, sugary, and tasty. Something I would happily eat every day of my life without objection. I just can't remember exactly what it was. But seriously, does it really matter?

When our meal was over we decided to venture upstairs to the gift shop. There Tracy scored and got herself the engagement ring we tried so hard to find in England. Sorry - no pix cause I put my camera away. I do know that there was a big convention going on and Melissa got hit on by some guy. Perhaps Jen did too. They will have to tell you there side of that story.

On our way home I decided to walk the long way home with Tracy and Christine. Cynthia - did you go with us or Melissa and Jen? I can't remember. I do remember being really tired, but the walk around the boardwalk was quite invigorating. It was a perfect evening for a stroll.

And then, fellow readers, it was time to hit the hay. I am sure I feel asleep almost the minute my head touched the pillow. No headache tonight and I slept like a baby.

Up Next......I canceled the spa to make up some park time!

Oh Bluezoo looks wonderful!!
All the food looks so yummy! Good thing I just had dinner.
I like the walk around that area too. It is a nice way to wind down and digest after a big dinner. What a cool dessert Mary Ellen! I would have eaten it all too!

Bluezoo looks like so much fun! Did you eat the little gold spinny stuff at the top of your dessert? It looks like a little birds nest hahaha.

Good work picking the right door at the Dolphin! Had it been up to me, I probably would have chosen a door leading to the loading dock or something equally incorrect!

Mary Ellen, your first instinct was right...I had the pork and it was amazing!!! I loved it so much I had it again just a few short weeks later!!!! That night I had so much fun, it was a great meal and but Blue Zoo right atop my must do list!!!!! I enjoyed being able to take Anita, Marc, and Baylor there.

Awww the absinthe....those were two brave ladies LOL

Yes as Melissa and I were walking back two gentlemen walked by and hit on us. Melissa and I tried not to make contact and kept right on walking!! We had a good laugh over it once we were back over by the Yacht club LOL!!!!

Great review Mary Ellen!!! That was a meal to remember always!

Rat, pig, dog....I am apparently an Ox. The Chinese zodiac really comes up with some beloved animals, doesn't it?

Too funny that line about Cynthia and the bikini!

Sounds like an awesome meal at Blue Zoo. That photo of your toast at the start of the meal looks so fun!

And what a great way to celebrate a Birthday Mary Ellen!
