Drinking Age on Fantasy

I am going on the Fantasy next year for a Western Caribbean Cruise and I will be 20. I understand that the drinking age in the United States is 21, and in the Bahamas the drinking age is 18. So my question is since the Fantasy is a Bahamian registered cruise ship will I be able to drink on board/Castaway Cay? Although I am not a drinker, I would like to know if I would be able to enjoy one of the Cruise specialty drinks.

All DCL ships have a drinking age of 21....

If you leave the ship in Nassau you can buy yourself a drink in town but not on Castaway Cay...the drinking age there is 21 as well.

The adult area is 18 so you will be able to visit the adult pool, dine in Palo, visit the spa and attend all the adult shows in the lounges.

Your KTTW card will be coded to allow you access to all adult venues, but not to purchase alcohol. There are lots of good non-alcoholic specialty drinks.

You can always order one of the specialty drinks without the alcohol. We've done that plenty of times for our under 21 year old son.

Drinking Age on the Fantasy

Sorry you won't be able to sample any of Disney's Daily Cruise Drinks on your upcoming cruise. There is a Silver Lining however; you'll be able to book a future Disney Cruise (after you turn 21) while on board. Have a good time & enjoy your cruise.

Think of all the money you'll save not buying those Foo Foo alcoholic drinks!

Good point, now I can buy one of those Exclusive Cruise only Dooney and Bourke (if still available).

There's no such thing as a "good" non-alcoholic drink.

I read what all of you are saying, but the bottom line is that it's ultimately up to the server. On castaway cay, I totally saw bartenders serve kids who were totally not 21. If the KTW card is coded, then I'm sure you can pay with cash, whatever. There are ways around it - the bartenders by and large are looking to make the sale, so if you look the part, well you just might get by.

Pls don't flame me - just talking reality. I would think they would be more strict on the ship than they would castaway....

All transactions on CC require your KTTW card so a server would not be able to pay for a drink using the card for someone not 21 and you cannot deal with cash there.

All Daily Drink specials are available in Non-alcohol form. DH and I don't drink and had virgin Konk Koolers most days. Trust me. You won't miss the rum

Do any of the other cruise lines let you drink at age 18?
