spirit of aloha- how much time to get there?

I'm trying to plan my itinerary and my DH has asked to do the luau (this is the only thing he has expressed interest in!). We will be driving and so will have our own car. We are going the friday after Thanksgiving for the whole following week. (Fri- Fri). we will be doing the 5:15 show b/c of our little ones (4,6,8). Should we do MK that day and then drive to the Poly? How long will that take? Can we take the monorail to the poly and then take the mono back to pick up our car (I think MK closes at 7)? How early do we need to get to the poly?
Yikes! I feel overwhelmed by such a small event!

The MK parking lot is the TTC parking lot and it is next door to the Poly. You can walk from the TTC to the Poly in <10 minutes.

more questions...

Is it even worth it to do the monorail or should we just make the trek to the parking lot right away and drive to the poly? How long would that take?
Can we even take the mono. if we are not staying on-site?

I think you didn't understand - if you have a car and are at the MK, you will be parked in the TTC lot already.

From MK, you could either take the monorail directly to the Poly or take a boat there. You don't need to go to the TTC at that point in time. After dinner, you can walk to the TTC and pick up your car. Yes, anyone can ride the monorail though.
